This is the first time i have posted on a forum but i could really do with some friendly support and advice.
I had to go to hospital on boxing day as i was bleeding. I had thought i was about 6 weeks but the doctor seemed to think i was only about 3 weeks. He did however find the sac and yolk sac but was unsure as to whether he saw the heart beat although i thought i did.
I then went for a scan at the early pregnancy assessment unit today and he could only see the sac.
I am really worried and have to go back next week to see if they can see anything or whether i have miscarried.
I would really appreciate any help and support you could offer if you have been through something similar as this is my first pregnancy and i feel a bit clueless!
when was the first day of your last period? and at 3 weeks hun you wouldnt be able to see a heart beat 5 weeks is still very early and normally can only see the sac try not to worry have they done bloods? x
I think missmoomoo said it all really. it is so common for a heartbeat to not be detectable at such an early stage. the fact a sac and yolk sac could be seen is encouraging. i will be thinking of you and hoping that during your next appointment a fetal pole will be seen along with that flashing white light. big to u hun xxx
Thank you so much for your responses. It is so scary playing the waiting game as i am in limbo between not wanting to be negative and preparing myself for what ever happens but trying to remain positive.
I am not sure if there was a yolk sac seen this time. The doctor was really cold and didn't take anytime in looking like the doctor i had on boxing day.
It was a vaginal ultrasound scan so i was hoping to see a littler glimmer.
Thank you again for taking the time to get back to me. It really means a lot to hear from other mums to be.
i didnt see anything whatsoever just the pregnancy sac at 5 weeks it was a week and a half later where they saw the baby and heartbeat...please do not worry yourself, the pregnancy sac is there and that IS a good sign, i was in your position and it is easier said than done but im sure you will be fine and your baby xxx
