What were your numbers?

Before I miscarried in Sept. 2010, I had blood drawn twice around 7 weeks. The first number was 2735 and 2 days later it was only 2950. I was bleeding a bit as well. I am now here again and had blood drawn last week (Monday and Wednesday) just passed 5 weeks. My first number was 5420 and the second was 9587. My progesterone level was 17.7 and I am on Prometrium. My ob was pleased by the increase and said I do not need to return until my first ultrasound in 2 weeks.

These numbers seem so much higher than my first try and I'd love to be thrilled but I'm still nervous and wondering if it's normal not to have the HcG tested again after they see it rising. Are my numbers for 5 weeks good? Should they be higher? Thanks for any responses, ladies!

your numbers look good... most drs dont test numbers after they see them doubling as the higher they get the longer they can take to double

My doctor doesn't test for doubling. Period. I had one HCG test to just confirm the pregnancy and that's it until 10 weeks.

Glad to know it's normal procedure then. Thanks! I can't wait until I don't panic anymore.

Yup, here in Canada we usually just have the one test.

I had a couple and I only know the results because my sister works in the lab and secretly told me lol.

numbers look great! I was told they only tend to do more than two blood draws if the numbers don't go up by around 80% in 48-72 hours. If they do, I don't think they see much point!x
