First post - early scan, dates don't add up?!

Hey all,

This is my very first post

We went for an early private scan this week. By my dates I would have been 8wks 5 days but the scan was showing 7 wks 3 days - way out

The sonographer didn't seem bothered, I know I ovulated 3 days later but that still doesn't work out.

We got to see the heartbeat which was great but just wondering if anybody else has experienced this, and everything worked out fine?

This is my first baby so everything is so new, I suffered a mc in Nov so guess I'm worrying about everything

we have the 12 wk scan in just under 3 weeks - seems like forever away!

Hey don't worry, everyone implants at different times so our dates can be out, try not to worry if everything looked healthy and they weren't worried I am sure it's all fine.

Hi RaeRae, gosh, I could have written this post myself! Only difference is that my mc was in June. My early scan was 6 days out and I know my dates are right as when you've been trying as long as we have you don't get it wrong! Plus I was using CBFM. I am just trying to tell myself that seeing the heartbeat is the main thing, and that they could always be a few days out at that early stage, surely? I have trawled the Internet and read lots of stories where people have 'caught up' at their next scan. But if anyone else would like to reassure us here, it would be most welcome!

that's true, I hadn't even thought about that... thank you

It's great to be able to talk to people about being pregnant finally, it's still such a secret amongst my friends

Hey BlueBoo,

I have trawled also, but I am taking reassurance that the sonographer was happy with it, I also told my MW on fri and she didn't seem bothered either - just me ha ha

But like Rasperryk said, we could have just ovulated late.

I'm feeling so sick and tired 24/7 so taking that as a good sign also.

Lots of luck for a happy and healthy 9 months x

Yeah it's lovely, and also nice to see there are some "youngish" ladies on here too, seen lots of people a year or two either side of me (I am 23) although not met many in "real life" !

I am 25, though will be 26 when little one arrives. I seem to be an 'older' mumma amongst my friends

It is so nice to be able to talk about whatever you like on here! I guess as long as the medical people aren't worried we just have to relax and not worry about it. I'm sure I'll be finding something else to worry about soon enough! Very happy and healthy 9 months to you too x

On my DD i went for my 12 week scan, and was told no way, i was only 9 weeks !! Still cant fathom out how or why (i never charted/knew when ovulated blah blah), was always regular around 4 week periods.

Being put back 3 weeks was horrible! But madam was fine (came a week early though may I add!)
