Does anyone know if I can?
I am having alot of toilet problems today TMI and I wondered if it is ok to take immodium so I cant get off the toilet and into my bed where I really need to be!!
The leaflet in the packet doesn't say not to, just to speak to your doctor or midwife about it, but this doesn't help me at nearly midnight!
Has anyone had the same problem and been told it's ok to take by their doctor?
Hey I wish I could help. I just went to the immodium website and it says it hasn't been proven safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding and to contact your doctor first just like you said the packet said, sorry I'm not much help. Here's the link anyways http://www.imodium.ca/en/faqs_aboutproducts_4.asp
I was told that there wasn't enough information done to say whether you can use it or not. So my pharmacist said if it was neccessary, to only use it minimally in the 2nd tri. But even still she said that it would be best to abstain from using it if you can.
I went to the Dr and they said that you can take it if you need to.
I have IBS and it really flared up the other week - dr said if its a little bit, best not to as it may cause constipation, but if I'm on the toilet all morning and in the pain then I MUST take some immodium as that would be really unhealthy.
i have IBS, quite cronic IBS but i stay away from imodium, well i stay away from most things, the only medical thing i take regularly is my inhaler and on the odd occasion paracetamol.
to help ease my IBS i like to use herbal teas, it really helps there are loads out there that help bad gut problems so its finding the one best for you. x
Hey - what herbal teas do you find help?
I'm on peppermint and ginger tea at the moment - they help with sickness
