Anyone feel too scared to enjoy pregnancy in the first trimester? Or is it just me?

Hi guys

I was just wondering if anyone else was feeling like me. Just abit about me. I am 35, this will be my first. We took quite along time to get here, because my husband had male factor infertility. We did something called ICSI, it didn't work the first time but with frozen embroyos it did. It is little short of a miracle.

At week 6.6 days we saw a little fetal pole with a hb.

However, this did not reassure me. I seem to live my life scared at the moment. I am scared to do anything. I am constantly symptom watching. If my boobs hurt less one day, I take it as a bad sign. If I am not so nauseas one day, I think its over. If I can't sleep one night, and am tossing and turning, I think I have damaged the baby. Oh...when will the worry end.

I am truly not a neurotic person usually. Has the first trimester caused anyone else to feel this way. Would love to hear from you allxx

need to find some first tri-buddies too.

I did the same hun. You will drive yourself nuts hun. about 10 weeks I chilled out and realized, we as people can make matters so muchmore wore when we stress. When I finally calmed down because my boobs hurt less, or I hadn't thrown up enoughtoday I started to enjoy my pregnancy. All will be fine hun, wait and see I think we all do it.

I find myself doing the same thing. I had initial spotting at 13 DPO after a BFP and it continued till yesterday, the day of AF. It has now stopped. I also had some cramps till yesterday. Today all that has gone away, my bbs are not tender anymore, no spotting and I do not feel pregnant at all. Except this morning I didn't want to eat my usual breakfast. Now I am questioning whether or not I am pregnant. I wake up in the middle of my night sleeping on my tummy and worry that I did something wrong. I wish for the 12 weeks to end soon!

Thanks glenoak - that is reassuring to hear.

desi - just to say at 4 weels, I did not feel pregnant at all. I had no sore boobs or nausea. No spotting. Take it as a good sign spotting and cramping has stopped. I know I'm a fine one to talk but symptoms to seem to come and go. I remember jabbing my breast week 4, must of looked pretty strange to outsiders, but kept feeling them for increased pain. It was week 5 when they started to hurt abit more. Now....if only I could take my own advice.

Coop - I think symptoms come and go according to me, and what others have said.

I hope so coopfairy. I went to the dr yesterday and they confirmed the BFP with a blood test. I decided I am going to POAS on ICs every other day so I skipped today. I will POAS tomorrow to confirm everything. Since I had brown spotting the nurse said to watch out for the red period like spotting and to call them if that is the case. I am thinking +ve at the moment.

My symptoms have been coming and going.

I'm not super worried or anything but have my moments.

I don't really get the whole 'enjoying' your pregnancy stuff. I mean obviously their development is an amazing process as is bringing a life in to the world, but really I just feel like crap on and off and I'm wishing 9 months had passed so I have my baby.

I agree peri. I don't really get the whole enjoying pregnancy either. I just want it out of the way too. I also want to be able to tell people, instead of feeling like I am living a lie. I want 12 weeks to be up, as life will be so much easier.x

Desi - your brown spotting sounds like implantation. Infact, my mum told me she had this with my brother, she thought it was AF. I'm sure it will be fine. x

I didn't know what it was. I found multiple explanations and the nurse rattled off a 10s of them too. I thought implantation happens a few days before the period but I guess may be they it happened later for me? Everything I read online said if spotting occurs in the first trimester it is ok but it is NOT ok if it happens in second/third trimesters.
