yes, im afraid my manager has started yet again...what can i do next?

hi everyone youve probably already saw my first thread about my manager

first when i gave her my scan letter she tried telling me that i had to make up the the hours after my scan-totally against the law. so i rang human resources who agreed with me. they obviously had a word with her as she's been more off with me than usual.
so now shes told me that i need to still go in before my scan at 10am (my scans at 12) i wouldnt mind but how the hell am i going to drink all that water on the shop floor ad it isnt exactly going to be very confortable me walking round with a full bladder feeling like im gonna pee myself!!!

then last thursday was the worse my sickness has been, so i rang work for the male manager to answer and say to me that i had phoned 5 minetes to late.

the day after i found out i was pregnant i told work, as i have to do heavy lifting in my first risk assesment one of the managers, shes now left (we have about 7 managers!!!) told me that if the saturday shift was getting to much for me i could have it changed no problem.

im having problems already with my health, i have scoliosis which is getting worse already to the point where of an evening i can hardly walk, i also have anemia which is making me extremly tired all the time which is not helped by the sickness i have throughout the day but is worse at night

in my second risk assesment which i had on saturday, they wrote in that it will be better for me not to do the late shift on saturdays anymore (i work in retail), as all it is is lifting, which im not allowed to do anymore not only because of pregnancy but because i have a curveture of the spine which is gradually getting worse. i nearly nodded off in my risk assesment so the other manager said it wasnt safe for me to do the late anymore.

so yesterday i got to work for my manager to be incredibly rude to me when i asked her if she saw the message that was left for her. she started talking to me like a was a child saying that i would have to drop my contract if i couldnt hack it, which would take 2 weeks and basicly told me to F off and get on with it even my midwife suggested stopping the shift aswell
she said i'll have to cut my contract and she needs it in writing with 2 weeks notice im having a baby i cant afford to cut my contract i just wanna swap the times on 1 day!!! how came they never gave me 2 weeks notice and told head office that she had a meeting with me that i gave her permission to cut my hours, when she never i was off work with swine flu

ive tried my best to talk to her but she just doesnt want to know and is extremly rude to me . she even made me cry at work on shop floor yesterday. this is meant to be an exciting time for me and shes ruining it .

my OH works over 50 hours a week, so he wasnt in when i got home from work. but my dad was so i had a good cry to my dad . im afraid i am a proper daddys girl even at 20 nearly 21.

my dad said shes being out of order and giving me unnessicary (sp) stress.

so my dad decided to go there today and have a chat with her, and just see what he could do . so he went in there all nicely to chat to her. he asked her if there was somewhere private they could chat about it and she litrally flew off the handle at him . before he could even speak. so my dad calmly said to her it doesnt matter how old your child is i'll do all i can to help her, shes pregnant and does not need the stress. she litrally just stormed off... so he said oh she was right your rude aswell

he came out and phoned head office and now im waiting for a call back from them.... all thi because i asked if i could swap a shift as it is clearly dangrous and unsuitable for mine and my unborn babies health the selfish inconciderate b***h

i just dont know what i can do next she ruining this whole journey for me by giving me stress

Ooooft she sounds such a nasty piece of work. Have you made a complaint about her? I would stop this in its tracks and make a formal complaint you can't allow her to treat you like this its disgusting! Big hugs hun x

h wat a nightmare of a boss. Id suggets joining a union, getting advise and making a formal complaint. It worth remembering that you can self certify sick for 5 days and Im sure a doctor would help you if you required longer. Dont put yourself or baby at risk, through bullying tactics of this woman. Im pretty sure you shouldnt be forced to cut hours, in facti think legally they should be finding you more suitable work to do. xx

im sorry you're having such a rough time she sound like a right cow. they have to take reasonable steps to ensure your health and your baby's. that includes swapping your shift so that you miss out the heavy lifting. can human resources not help more? they are not allowed to suggest that you drop your contract - that is totally against the law, unless they suspend you from work on full pay on health grounds. xx

thankyou

were hardley short staffed we have over 100 sales advisors for this one shop

even if we were short staffed, because of my health problems and the stress its having on me emotionly and physically in the pregnancy and what ive read on the directgov. website says their meant to make suitable changes if my health and unborn babys health is at risk. and surely if its in a risk assesment that they have carried out says that i should swap that shift then wouldnt it be must that they do so

i could only get an appointment with my doctor for thursday after my scan, to ask him for a note to say about me doing the lates as thats what headoffice said may help even more
i work for newlook and they are useless!!!!!

i made a complaint about her to head office earlier as they asked to speak to me aswell, i said that basicly shes a psycho , seriously though she is one minete shes nice, then shes nasty and shouts at you and then 5 minetes later she acts like nothing happens.

i just cant take it there much longer im so tempted to leave

Well done for making the complaint. They do have to fit to you basically and its fab you've been on for researching. I wouldn't leave I would stand my ground and follow through with the complaint. There are people you can contact through directgov to help you with these situations hun

Oh my god, this is disgusting Ive never heard of anyone being so mean to a pregnant woman! Does she have kids of her own? If you are on a permenant contract she cant tell you to dropp it as its classed as constructive dismissal. She sounds like a cow and you have a lot of rights to extra help when you are pregnant so I agree that you should persue a complaint with HR.

This has made me mad
