Hcg level only 37 at 14 dpo?

I've had extremely faint positives on strip tests since 10 dpo so got a blood test done on the 14th. Being a poas addict, I got a digital test same day which confirmed I'm pregnant but then I got a phone call from my Doctor this morning saying the result was 'indecisive' at a hcg level of 37 and to go back for another test next week.

From what I have read a level above 25 is judged as a positive but should I be worried by how low my hcg is? I've not had any spotting or cause for concern yet but a weeks a long time to wait to make sure everythings ok!

x

Honestly, I would call your doctor back and ask for another blood draw- you'll want two draws about 48-72 hrs apart. Although that level is on the lower end of the scale, that's still positive for pregnancy. More important though is how the level increases- as it should double about every 48 hours. I'm surprised he wanted you to come back a week later? That seems way to long to wait hun. I'd push to get in sooner. When I got blood draws, that is how my Fertility Clinic wanted me to do it... and they compared the two samples.

Below is a chart of "average" levels per week of pregnancy. Looks like you fall in the average at 4 weeks to me!!!

Congrats and best of luck to a H&H 9 mos!!!!

Mine was 29.5 at 10dpo. The number doesn't matter, it's the rate it rises that matters x

Thank you! I'm going to follow your advice and go back to Doctors today and ask for another, especially as my last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, I want them to take extra care with this one if there is already cause for concern! Fingers crossed my numbers have doubled now! x

The first time I was pregnant I got the exact same call from the doctor's office saying the results were inconclusive at 35. I knew I was only 11DPO, but they still said it was inconclusive. I freaked out! I tested again a few days later and they were around 300, and then they were able to 'confirm' the pregnancy.

ProudMama, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know it's a terrible thing to go through, my thoughts are with you. x

I had my second blood test 48 hours later and they'd gone upto 112 so more than doubled, thankfully! Thank you for all your support and kind words! You all helped ease alot of worry!
