I think it just all depends on how it's been preserved I can't see basic supermarket ham or turkey being a problem well I ate all through my 1st pregnancy xx

I know you're not suppose to but my husband and I had very little money and even less time.I ate deli meats and cheeses most of my pregnancy and when we bought them it lasted us 4 to 5 days at a time. I don't eat hot sandwiches. I ate them cold right from the bag they sold them to me in and my little girl was a fine 8lb 4oz healthy girl who is now almost 7 months and has been crawling and pulling her self up for over a month. The doctors say she's advanced for her age. I'm hoping next time I wont have to do the same but if you've already eaten some and haven't gotten sick and the ultrasound are fine I wouldn't try to worry to much since that will probably make things worse. You can't undo anything you've already done.
most likely it wouldn't do any harm at all, if you ate it all the way through your pregnancy, but there is a slight risk. same as tuna, i love tuna sandwiches but we're only supposed to have a small amount of that each week too, i think my doc said one or 2 cans a week, something to do with it containing mercury.

I have read this on several websites, my doctor explained to me, and it's also in the foods to avoid section in my what to expect when you're expecting book. I trust it and won't take the chance! My first meal after delivery will be a cold turkey sandwich on white with layers of mayo and pepper jack with a side of greasy fries lol! oh and don't forget the dr. pepper!

I just go by what is on the 'not allowed list' on the food standards agency website. Doesnt mention ham etc on that so I ate it all through my last pregnancy and have done so far through this one

I have a 7 year old and even knew with that pregnancy not to eat deli meats. Any processed meat, actually. So bologna, hot dogs, ham, turkey, anything. At any time the Listeria infection can cause a miscarriage or birth defects. Even if you've been fine in a pregnancy, doesnt mean that you'd be so lucky each time. Be careful! You could eat hot ham and cheeses or hot turkey subs. Just get them toasted. But yes, of course we will crave them now that we can't have them.

Maybe the advice in the UK was different Not once in my previous pregnancies was it mentioned to me. At my Dr's appt he said there is now a big list of what you cannot eat that will have changed since I had my LO (21 months ago)
