white blood cells in urine?

Has anyone ever had this? My midwife said I have white blood cells in my urine and asked if it stings when I wee etc, saying it was probably a urine infection. I said no, but in February I did have some stinging but that was straight after washing down there (sorry tmi!) I forgot to mention this to her though.

I have to take another urine sample next week for them to check again, and if it comes back the same they are going to have to check for chlamydia.. How would I have got chlamydia? I thought you could only get it from having sex with other people but its only been my boyfriend for the last 5+ years and same for him with me!

Worrying also as googled it and if it comes back as no chlamydia and no urine infection I have to get my kidneys scanned etc.

It probably is a urine infection to be honest, but just wondering if anyone else has had the same? Wouldnt a urine infection cause stinging all the time?

Thanks xx

I have just posted this on a similar post.

I had this a couple of weeks ago. I went to the docs with back ache on the right side and I got sent for scan to check baby was in the right place. I have never had a water infection and so wasnt sure how it would feel but the hospital explained it is likely I have a water infection due to the blood cells. Obviously with the back ache it would explain because as Loolabear has said kidneys etc and my sister who has had quite a lot of kidney infections also agreed that is what the back pain could have been. I was given a weeks course of antibiotics and the pain I was getting has gone. I am just getting my usual back ache now

Chlamydia wise I had it a few years ago even though I had only been with my now husband (who always used protection before me) for a few years and before that I had been in 2 relationships. It turns out that my ex could have infected me and it lay 'dormant' so to speak in my body until I started getting discomfort in my pelvis etc and they tested and found I had it. Me and hubby got the meds and then I was given the all clear and no further problems.

xx

I remember when I was preg. with my son they said something to me about the white blood cells thing (they never said anything to me about Chlamydia). I had a uti and battled with it the whole pregnancy. I was hospitalized around 3 times because of it staying in my kidneys ect. I had horrible back pain and it didn't hurt when I went to the bathroom. The reason i had such trouble getting rid of mine was I had/have an over active bacteria (which is supposed to be in there just not crazy like mine) and it caused them. They put me on meds ect.- They said the preg. could of been causing things to go out of whack.
I was told to make sure I emtpy my bladder all the way- they gave me some exercises to do & to drink plenty of water- and cranberry juice.
