I feel bad asking, but I'm still panicking...

Some of you read my thread from yesterday about my ultrasound, but if not, I didn't get anything from it because the tech said she couldn't really see much, so they're probably going to give me another one soon.

Anyway, I may have just not been far enough along, but the other thought that occurred to me was that baby's just not growing (and didn't really start to).

If that's the case, would I still have all my symptoms and everything or would they stop? Would their be any way to know (or speculate) that it's just not growing?

I'm sorry for the upsetting post, but I'm just really worried.

Basically what I saw was a small black hole/dot with a white ring around it. And the reason I got the ultrasound in the first place is because I have no idea how far along I am. I got a faint BFP on April 9, though.

oh lol...you sound fine, the small circle is the yolk sac and there should be a tiny like figure on the out side of it... and i mean tiny!!! the dr. had to zoom in on mine and it was still hard to see, but when he did you could see a heart flicker, but that was early...did they say anything about a fetal pole?

The ultrasound lady didn't say hardly anything except that she couldn't tell and I'd need to get another one.

I'm in the same boat and I'm worried as well. I ovulated on the 26th of march...had a faint bfp on april 8th...went in at 6 weeks ges age and had a scan done which showed 2 gs, baby a had a yolk and baby b couldn't see anything. No heartbeat was seen.

I keep searching for answers on these forums, but it seems like by week 6, there should be more development than what I'm seeing on the us.

My ob is just saying do another scan next week.

Im no expert here but I had a very early scan at what I thought was 6 week 1 day. All they could see was similar to yours - a dark circle with a white ring around it. That is your gestational sac.
Five loooooooong days later there was a small tiny baby in there with a heartbeat!!

It seems that no matter how carefully you calculate your dates you could still be out with when you ovulated. Or implantation could have been delayed. I now understand that even a couple of days too early could leave you with nothing to be seen.

So try not to worry. When are you being scanned again?

My scan photo is exact same a black hole with a white ring round the side.

I replied to your post yesterday.

What you saw, or didnt see is spot on for 5-6wks pregnant.

I am thinking that if you had a period like 5/6wks before that scan and you told them that...they would say 'everything looks perfect'. Its just the fact that as you say you dont know how far along you actually are......if your period was like 9wks ago, they would be acting the way they are saying they cant be sure.

In either situation above, they ask you to come back for a follow-up scan a couple weeks later as they want to see that by then a baby is growing with a heartbeat - which I am sure you will see!!

I cant say too much about symtoms as my first pregnancy I had none! I would guess that as you have symptoms then thats a great sign.

Up til my 5/6wk scan, which showed the exact pic that you describe, I had no symptoms. I had to wait 2.5wks for the follow-up scan which was quite stressful!! But in that time I had started getting heartburn and some nausea - I took that as a good sign and sure enough all was well when I went for the scan at 8wks.

I'm probably not gonna be much help but maybe I can help you feel a little better. I too went in on Wed at 6 weeks, 1 day for my dating scan and all the tech could see was a gestational sac and yolk sac. No baby or heartbeat. I was told I was measuring 4 weeks 5 days. They rescheduled me for a f/u scan next friday Apr 29. I also had my blood drawn to check my HCG & Progesterone. I went in again yesterday to have them drawn to ensure they're doubling . Unfortunately I won't have the results until Monday. My OB said he would call me over the weekend if my results came in to ease my mind. I'm praying I hear from him today or tomorrow!
I also posted a question about this and a lot of women replied and helped ease my nerves.
