I think i am about 6 weeks, (without the additional 2 weeks before conceptioon, that really confuses me ) but im really not sure due to not knowing when my last period was from coming off the pill.
I took a test on Wednesday 30th March, which resulted in negative.
I then took one a week later on Wednesday 6th April, which was positive (i then took lots more and they were all positive!)
Because i have only recently come off the pill, im not sure when my last period was, which makes it even more confusing as to how far i am.
Im thinking that i concieved on the Sunday 13th March? Does this sound accurate? Because ive heard that implantation takes 3 weeks. Which explains the negative test after 2 weeks, and the positive ones after 3 weeks?
Sorry for all the confusion!? Please help if you can... x
Implantation takes anywhere from 6-12 days, not 3 weeks. Did you have a period when you went off the pill?? Did you stop at the end of the pill pack?? Its hard to say, how long was the time from which you went off the pill and got your bfp?? I think the most accurate thing to do would be to get a dating scan. Because its not clear when you ovulated and hcg starts showing up in urine at different points for different women. Have you made a dr's appt??
Oohright. Yes i have had one period since coming off the pill. Then it felt alot longer than 4 weeks when i was thinking my next should be due. Therefore i took a test, which was negative, then a week later they were positive. Sorry whats bfp? Ive had my first doctors appointment 2 weeks ago, he didnt say much, just gave me folic acid. And because i couldnt tell him when my last period was, he told me to book in with the midwife, which is tomorow x
hun my last period was 4th of March which puts my ovulation around the 18th of March and i got a postive test on the 4th of April, your pregnancy is always counted from your LMP ( last period ) so if they know when u ovulated they would add 2wks to that to date the pregnancy, its jst how its always been done as your period was techncially the last date you could NOT have been pregnant you are considered pregnant from then
this causes a problem for women who dont know their LMP date, if you got a negative test at the end of March but postive a week later that would put your pregnancy at similar dates to mine but could be out by a week or so your negative test (BFN - big fat negative) only proves at that point you didnt have enough HCG in your system for it to pick up on a home pregnancy test you could have tested the next day and gotten your BFP ( big fat positive ) so id say your between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 wks pregnant ,
get your MW to arrange a scan for you because you should be able to see the baby and heartbeat clearly by now
Thankyou lynnikins, that has put it in a lot better perspective for me! That sounds about right 8 weeks ish? So i would have already been '2 weeks pregnant' on the 13th march when i concieved? (It is only a guess the 13th, but i know i definately had sex that night and it feels right for it to be about then)
I just remembered i flicked through my phone calender a couple of days ago, and i noticed a 'P' on the 2nd March, which could have meant period, (or could have been the start of something else i was going to write?! Im useless!) But if that did mean start of my period, i would have ended about the 6th March...so would that all fit in? Sorry if non of this makes sense, im confusing my self! x
The other thing you could do is get a clearblue digital HPT "with conception indicator", it'll measure how much HCG is in your system and therefore estimate how far along you are. The instructions explain it all, but you basically add 2 weeks to what it says. So if it says 3-4 then you'd be consideed 5-6 weeks pregnant. The only way for you to get an accurate due date form there would be at your dating scan, whch midwife should book for you tomorrow.
