Cute ways to tell your family?

I'm looking for some cute/creative ways to tell my family.

I will be going on a trip with my sister next week & want to tell her then. About 2 weeks later my husband and I will be telling our parents....and maybe it's stupid, but I want to do it creatively. Problem is, I'm stumped!!!

For my sister I was thinking about telling her I brought a stowaway along on our trip, or something like that, but I dunno....

Any ideas?

I like the stowaway idea that's cute. One way I heard is to have fan over for dinner and serve baby sized food ie baby carrots baby corn baby cupcakes and see if they catch on. I Aldo saw some one just put a bun in the oven and kept checking in it making sure to say I'm just checking this bun, this bun in the iven still needs more cooking really obvious preg sayings and see if anyone caught on.

I'll be stalking to see what u came up with

C xx

One idea that I almost did (but opted to invite our fam over for dinner and just tell them)-- is to take a digi test - the kind that says "pregnant" as they last 24hrs- then wrap it up and give it as a "present" hehe. That might be a fun way to tell your sis???

Not sure about the fam... I wasn't very creative there. haha. Plus they all kinda suspected when we invited them all for dinner off hand- and knew we'd been TTC for some time! lol. So I just blurted it out... but I did think about casually mentioning something to see if anyone caught on... like above, that would be cute

Best of luck hun! So exciting!!!

Ooh... just a thought- but you could make a Tshirt for you or hubby and wear it to dinner... like have one made for hubby that says "Daddy to be" or for you "I'm growing a baby, what did you do today?"... lol

It's my MIL's birthday the week after next (just after my first early scan) so, all being well, we are planning to tell her by getting her a 'grandma' card and putting a pic of the scan inside with something like... "I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday from here in mummy's tummy and look forward to meeting you for cuddles in december"

Maybe you could do something similar with a card and a message from little bean... doesn't have to be birthday related.

So exciting isn't it!

I'm going up to visit my family on the May long weekend, as they live out of town, so the cooking idea doesn't really work...I was thinking trying to see if I can find a couple shirts for my niece & nephew that say something like "I'm going to be a cousin!" and get them to put them on and surprise my mom & other sisters. But I have so many siblings that my mom might not catch on right away lol.

We're waiting for a few more weeks to tell our families, and it seems like the longer we wait, the harder it may be! I am thinking of getting those recordable cards and recording babies heartbeat on it and getting my daughters to give it to them.... something like that

Oooh I like that idea. Maybe I'll give my mom a belated Mother's day card to grandma?!

For our first child, we bought Grandma and Grandpa coffee mugs for our parents and gave them wrapped as a gift. Even the cheesy "World's Best Grandpa" mugs do the trick. Took my dad a minute to figure out what we were talking about

I don't know if you have other kids but for our second pregnancy we got our toddler a "Big Brother" t-shirt and waited for our parents to notice. We used this method for notifying friends and family on Facebook as well.

I found out before work one day and I didn't want to tell my husband over the phone so after work I placed our infant carrier in the car next to our son's car seat. When my husband came out to help unload groceries, he looked at the backseat very puzzled. I told him that I just wanted to see what I looked like since it was going to be that way in December. The confusion and jaw drop was priceless

There are so many fun and creative ways to do it. Have fun with it!

That is adorable! This is our first child, and we've been trying a while. I tried to wait to tell my husband after work, but I just couldn't. I sent him a text picture of the positive test (it was actually my fourth positive lol). His response was "OMG when I get home I'm wrapping you in bubble wrap. Don't worry, I'll poke holes for your mouth." I wish I had done it differently, but I couldn't wait!! And his reaction was pretty cute, I think.
