Mucus plug and no symptoms - can you help?!

Hi
I'm going a bit insane- I'm 5 weeks today. I have no symptoms but several positive tests of varying shades...!! Today I passed a massive glob of mucus- it looked like some form of mucus plug. Can there be a positive end to this?! Or is this destined not to be..?! I'm so worried....
Please please tell me if you've had anything similar.
Thanks- dr just said if its a miscarriage there is nothing we can do!!! Very reassuring!!!

I don't think the mucus plug even develops that early, so it was probably not that. I know I've seen threads on here form other ladies who had globby/mucus-ey cm early on, so it is more than likely just cm. As long as there is no bleeding, you're probably just fine

Mrs AJ is right, the mucus plug doesn't develop till much later. I don't want to frighten you, but I had a threatened MC at Easter, anyways I passed this suspicious looking mucus blob and when I discribed it to the Doc he said it sounded like it may have been bubby...but I had a scan and bubs was still there, but I also have a suspicion that I may of had twins, as they're very strong in both DH and my families, and I had some bleeding around the same time.

Maybe go and see another Doc who is a tad more caring about you, and they will get you in for a scan. Keep us posted on how you go xx

thanks TraceC - that's interesting- I'm glad all worked out for you and you are still carrying a baby, although I'm sorry for your loss also.
They said you can't have a scan at 5 weeks, it's too early.
I am booked for a private scan in about 11 days and so I guess fingers crossed until then...
we have no history of twins on either side and I have also had no bleeding. I'm hoping the no bleeding is a good sign, but I've seen so many ladies m/c with no signs and no bleeding that I'm totally shaken up....

Excessive mucous is very common in early pregnancy. I had massive globs a few mornings earlier on, and have continued to have lots of extra cm in my panties. GL!

No bleeding is a good sign...I know it will be a long 11 days until your scan, but try to hang in there.

lotsa muscus is normal - (warning TMI!!) i am finding with my second pregnancy that it comes out in episodes rather than a bit all the time... i think everything is a bit more stretched down there and can trap the stuff.

i wouldnt stress, but if your super worried you could get the Dr to do a swab to check its not an infection.

good luck!

For me white discharge is one of the first signs of pregnancy. I get more white discharge after Ive conceived than when I have not conceived.
