Confused about baking soda test!

Me and my SIL are both pregnant but she is quite a bit further along then I am at 22 weeks. She has had two scans done showing she is having a boy.

We decided to do the baking soda test and see if it works since we know what she's having. We also had someone who isn't pregnant do it.

My SIL did it...no fizz at all! Our friend did it...no fizz at all! Then when I did it...it fizzed like crazy!!!

I was under the impression that it fizzed if you are having a boy but if that's the case it has been proven wrong! I know it's just for fun but I was just making sure that was correct. Boy=fizz. Girl=no fizz.

lol... its not a gender test its a pregnancy test... supposedly it fizzes if you are pregnant...i know the gender test in stores are based on you hormones, they test for the male hormones(they say its not for people with pcos because there is already male hormones in the urine) sooo does baking soda detect hormones?

I put one teaspoon of baking soda in a cup and just poured enough pee to kind of cover the top of it. I didn't have to stir it or anything...it just started fizzing!
