Hiya. When I was 8 weeks preggo back in February, I also had a terrible cold/flu virus. Felt like I was actually dying sometimes. I wouldn't worry too much about it affecting your LO. Mine is now almost 24 weeks & healthy as ever.

As for you, don't let yourself get too dehydrated (it'll just make u feel worse, TRUST ME. lol). & try some natural remedies to ease your stuffiness/sore throat (ie: Try making a Hot Honey & Lemon drink, I wouldn't use any of the medicinal ones like Lemsips etc, just to be on safe side. But homemade should be harmless). Also, if you have a temperature my doctor suggested taking normal Paracetamol as it is also quite harmless to fetus. Although I didn't take any, I was just too paranoid. I just rode it out & drank plenty of fluids.

Good Luck & Hope ur feeling better soon. xx

I'm in the same boat, though I'm lucky enough not to have morning sickness (at least not yet!). I've had a fever and sore throat and all-over aches for the last few days. I finally broke down and took Tylenol last night; I was told it was safe during pregnancy, though I'm nervous about taking any medications at all. For the sore throat, I've been drinking caffeine-free tea with honey, and that's helped a little.

I hope you feel better soon!

Oh, also if your not 100% sure about something. Just phone NHS 24. They will clear up any doubts you have about taking anything & it's all professional advice. Hope this helps. xx

Not with this pregnancy yet, but with my other two, yes, i was ill several times.
I don't think it hurts the baby. Just stay hydrated.

Best of luck!
