Blood clot under placenta.

(im only 5 weeks and 4 days) So my doctor had called me this morning asking if i can come into the office to talk about what he had seen on my sonogram. shows that he saw a blood clot under my placenta.. this had me shoooook'd. he said 8/10 the baby will be fine but he told me to rest alot and basically to be lazzzzyyyy all day.. so it doesnt grow... my question is... if it dissolve.. will it jus disappear or will i pass it thru into the toilet?? and if i do.. i should still rush to the hospital right??? has anyone ever experienced this before? its my first pregnancy and im a nervous wreck...

hi i recently had a m/c in 09 i was 8 weeks along and got a clot that ruptured in the placenta..nobody could figure out why till i went to my hemotolagist i have what is called antiphospholipid syndrome also known as APS.. its when you have thick blood that causes clotting in the placenta you should look it up and see if it sounds like you.. it can be dangerous maybe you should ask your doctor to be tested for it you may need to be on blood thinners best of luck though praying all goes well for you and your baby!!

not to scare you. But I had this with my daughter, although it was not a cause of me losing her (i have an incompetent cervix), when she was born at 23 weeks, the clot was the size of a baseball. I have a small clot with my new baby. they don't seem concerned. Just hang in there. and pray (if you believe in it)

a close friend of mine had a really big clot in her uterus with the baby that they found when she was very early on, she had to be on bed rest and she ended up getting some accupuncture which she swears helps becasue it dissolved and passed and she now has a healthy 5 month old baby. It was definitely scary for a while though because it was growing and they thought it would push out the baby, jsut do what the DR's say and maybe look into some other types of homeopathic treatments if you're into stuff like that
