Maternity clothes mini rant- US Ladies help?

So I finally broke down and got some maternity pants, because I tried bigger sizes of regular pants and they were just too loose everywhere except my hips. It's a bit early for them I thought, but my regular clothes just aren't fitting anymore and I didn't like the belly band, I tried it and it was just too uncomfortable for me. In regular clothes I have to buy petites or short sizes, though I am 5 foot 5, I have short legs and a longer torso. Well it seems in the 2 maternity stores I have within forty minutes of me, they do not have petite sizes. So I got one pair of crop pants that fit wonderfully, but I think I have to return the two pants I bought. They were too long and I was hoping with different shoes maybe they would work, but I just tried them on at home and no luck. And I feel silly even complaining about this, but Old Navy did not have maternity pants that even fit at all, I am normally a size 2 but those were too big in the legs, though they fit okay at the waist with the stretch and they don't have smaller sizes. Do any of the US ladies have advice for good places to get maternity clothes? The other store I was at is Motherhood Maternity, where I was able to find a great bathing suit and shirts, but still not any good pants.

I found that the GAP has some good stuff, and sales online too! I got one pair of capris at kohls, but for the most part that store sucked for selection (and quality, in my opinion). Target has some casual stuff too, might want to try there...

Thank you so much! I was not going to try online shopping until I found a store where I knew sizes would fit, but I will try gap! I didn't know they had maternity. We don't have a target nearby, the closest one is about an hour and a half away, but we drive by it when visiting my sister, so next time we do that I'll have to check it out too!

My legs are stick thin...so I have the hardest time finding pants. I have yet to fid a good fitting pair. Even eith my pregnancy with my daughter i didnt find anything. I just wear baggy leg pants when you do find pants that fit..tell me where you find them. I find Old Navy runs big.

Old Navy definitely runs big, I'll let you know if I find anywhere! Finding pants in general is hard, but finding maternity pants has proven much harder! I'll keep looking though, baggy pants drive me crazy. Especially when its chilly out

I know how you feel, but I am on the complete opposite spectrum. Im 6' tall and wear a size 5-7 with a 36" inseam (xlong) which only a few brands carry as it is. I cant find any maternity pants that will fit me....guess Ill be wearing shorts this winter.

Try target...they have tons of adorable tops and bottoms! There are already a few things I have eyed in there that I want in a few weeks. If you don't have one near you they have an even larger selection online.

I was in the same boat you were... My regular clothes were getting too uncomfortable and while I bought the belly band and still wear it sometimes, I just wasn't very comfy at all. I ended up going to Motherhood (which I know you said you already visited) but their petite selection left much to be desired. I was able to find 1 pair and they fit very well (as far as length goes). I should've been in a small petite but knew that I was going to get bigger and decided to go with a medium petite, so hopefully I will be able to wear them throughout my entire pregnancy. The pants are still a bit big but the jeans I bought and the pair of shorts fit perfectly. I ended up ordering some more online since they had a great buy 2 get 1 free deal going on. I would say check back and see if they at least have 1 pair of petite pants that you can try on and possibly order the rest.

If the length is the only issue with the pants, you can take them to an alterations person and have them hemmed. It shouldn't cost more than $10 or so.
