Feel like a whale


Uggh I totally feel like a whale! Everyday I vow not to overeat and give in to every indulgence. I seem to do okay in the morning, but then at around 4pm everyday I become a hungry crazy insatiable beast. I'll eat a big snack and then some dinner with my husband. By the evening I sometimes feel sick to my stomach. (like tonight).

I'm really struggling with this. I was always trying to lose/watch my weight before I got pregnant, and sometimes I had problems with emotional overeating. I feel like now I have that, combined with being pregnant (more emotions, more hunger) and I'm hating myself for having no self control.

Does anyone have any tips on how to take control of this eating? I don't want to lose weight or diet obviously, but I feel like I'm ruining this fun time by being obsessed with my body and lack of self control.

Thanks for listening..it feels better to even just tell someone how I'm feeling.

I wish I could eat. I'm not that thin to start with (about a size 12), but my appetite has been WAY down. I'm a little naseous, but that's manageable. I'm just not hungry. Eat a few bites and I feel full/sickish. And I'm mostly eating carbs; protein sounds gross right now.

Oh well. As far as your appetite, try to space out your food and maybe don't go crazy if you can. This is my 3rd pregnancy, and the weight does come off, so don't worry too much. I'm hoping to gain around 25 lbs the entire time, but I'll see if that's doable. That's what the online calculators recommend. Feel better!

I am the EXACT same way. I wish there was some way to control it but I guess I'm just not eating enough during the day and it catches up...? During the day I eat 150-200 healthy calories every 2-3 hours and by 4/5 I can't seem to eat enough....sucks!

Count me in. I get so hungry and when I get hungry, I want to eat NOW. I don't want to gain extra weight, more than necessary with pregnancy, but I can't seem to control my eating habits! Waaah!!

Omg this is exactly how I feel. I can't stop eating. My Facebook status last night was I'm turning into a whale lol

I'm really worried to as is still early and I feel like I'm showing already as my tummy is getting fatter!

You are certainly not alone. It hits me at around 10.30-11am and is really bad, I sat eating pickled beetroot yesterday straight out of the jar!! But come 3pm I feel so rough the thought of food makes me feel ill! I dont think I can win.
I'm scared of putting weight on, I know its inevitable but I dont want to have baby and then worry about the unnecessary weight I've added, but once I get feeling better I plan on getting back on with my walking and hopefully in the second tri I'll be able to control myself a bit better.

You are not a whale believe me. Not yet anyway if you want to snack by all means do so. Perhaps having some fruit in the fridge will help, but not every snack needs to be healthy

OMG i'm exactly the same! I was eating heathy before I fell pregnant but since finding out I just eat anything and everything, even if im not hungry : / whats that all about! I get in bed on a night n my food feels like its at my throat! Even today its 11am and ive eaten my dinner already. I need control just like you
