8 weeks pregnant, bad stomach ache for days, no bleeding.. help!!

hi,
i am currently 8 weeks pregnant, and have had awful tummy ache since early saturday morning.. i had gone to docs last tuesday as i thought i had a water infection. she gave me some antibiotics which i took all week, but they didnt really help. i ended up going into an urgent care centre sunday morning as the tummy ache had been constant and i had been up all night with it. they didnt check me over much, just swapped me onto amoxicillin. ive been taking it since sunday morning and ive still got the tummy ache. im not bleeding at all, its just the constant ache is doing my head in now. it seems to ease off a bit if im still but as soon as i move its there again..

has anybody else had this? i do always have bad water infections when im preg but the antibiotics should have started to work by now shouldnt they?
got mw appointment tommorow, couldnt come sooner! gonna nag her for a scan, otherwise ill be worrying for another month xx

I get stomach aches a lot, I am 8+5 days. Is yours followed by gas or anything? It could be something you have been eating combined with the bloating. If you are really worried check with your doctor.

Hello! - mmm seems a little odd, are you due on a period? Sometimes women still get cramps around there period time but no actual bleeding, it could be wind or your tummy just preparing its self.. If your worried contact your GP and you will soon have your midwife appointment! X

Hi Mummy88, I'm also 8 weeks pregnant and have had the same pains for over 4 weeks now. At first they were EXCRUCIATING and I had to be admitted to hospital, where they told me I had a water infection although they DIDN'T take a urine sample from me. 2 GPs had tested my urine earlier the same week and couldn't see any sign of infection, but the hospital still gave me antibiotics. After 5 days there was no improvement, so another GP prescribed a different kind of antibiotics and sent a urine sample to the labs...it came back a few days later completely clear, and another GP then told me to stop taking the antibiotics as there was no sign of infection and could be making things worse. Have they taken a urine sample from you?

I was then admitted to hospital for a couple of nights, whilst they checked for kidney stones and kidney infection. At week 5 I had an early ultrasound to check that the pregnancy wasn't ectopic and thankfully it wasn't. You should definitely ask for an early scan, and I also had two internal exams and two lots of swabs taken by two different gynae doctors at the hospital - everything came back clear, but it's only through persistent nagging of your GP / midwife that anything gets done.

Are you taking any pregnancy vitamins? The hospital doctors are at a complete loss as to what's causing my pain, but I'm starting to wonder whether my Pregnacare tablets are causing all the bother. I feel better if I don't take them for a couple of days, and I've today founds LOADS of internet posts saying pregnancy multivitamins can cause stomach cramps....

I agree, fight and nag until you get an answer. Something must be causing the pain and they need to find out.
