Anyone have Netflix?

There's a popular documentary called Food Inc..... super informative and entertaining and shocking all at the same time. It's really sad that our society (ok well at least in America, I don't know what's going on over there in the UK ; ) doesn't provide us with the healthiest food possible. I was really glad I watched it while I was pregnant last time so I could clean up my act and start eating better.

I love documentaries too, but please make sure to watch them with an open mind. While they are a 'documentary' they also are a movie, and pretty much get a free hand to say whatever they want, regardless of how true it is - and often use fear and emotion to accomplish their goal.

I am not saying that it isn't true, but don't for a second think that the movie may not have an agenda. Just do research too, to make sure what they are saying is actually true.

The food thing is gross. Not because of the movie, but I get 95% of my food, both meat and veggies from local farmers, who grow their crops organically and have free range livestock.

I love the food! We belong to a CSA, which delivers a box of fresh produce weekly. It is awesome having so much fresh produce, but it is sometimes challenging to figure out what to do with 5 large beets :-). ESPECIALLY now, since just looking at some of the veggies makes me

I love food documentaries. Actually I have been toying with becomeing a vegetarian for a year now and all of a sudden this month (just before I ovulated) I suddenly stopped eating meat completely and I haven't missed it a bit. I think my little ones spirit was trying to tell me something.

thats wonderful. i was a vegetarian for about a year and vegan for about 6 months before that. now i just opt for all-natural meat without synthetic hormones and antibiotics. i feel its a lot easier for me to get all my nutrition in while im pregnant. its not impossible though for vegetarians! just be sure that you get all the amino acids you need by eating different types of protein together... ex: from beans and from vegetables. and of course your prenatal... they have vegan options available... i still take vegan prenatals because frankly i dont want animal byproducts in my vitamins. i also take vegan choline and vegan omega-3's... something to look into
