Had my appointment today!!

I went in for my first official appointment with the midwife today. She checked my breasts because my mom has a history of cancer at a young age. Everything was OK. Check my belly, good there too. Got to hear the little one!!! HB was about 150!!! Found it right away too!

I told her that sex wasnt enjoyable anymore because it has a stingy burning to it now.. She did a manual exam and said my uterus was really low and my cervix was closed and long because again my mom had preterm labor... She then offered me a pap even though I didnt need one. I told her it was ok, I didnt really want one. But then we talked more about the buring so I asked her to take a look to see if things looked sensitive. I told her that I have also noticed that things throb down there now when I use the bathroom or even a exam. She said its from all the increased blood flow.

We came to the conclusion that I am NOW allergic to lube because when she did the manual exam it burned just like sex...She had lube on her glove. I am already allergic to latex and now lube. Delivery should be fun... Not. They use lube to check you everytime. I guess DH has to be on high alert for latex and lube even though we plan to put a big note in my room.

Sorry for the long post..

oh fun...at least you are just allergic to the lube and not your hubby!

in all seriousness though...you will obviously need lube throughout your life, did they say you are permanently allergic to it now? Does that happen?

She said that its the composition of my hooha that has changed because of the hormones. Hopefully it will go away. She said we could try a little water or even .....spit

Fingers crossed xx

In a way its good you've found this out now. Hope you find a way of coping.
I think saying spit probably doesn't give much of a sexually fun appeal but think of it more as natural oral lube.
