Hi Keeleypup,

I had two early scans at Rotherham General (one at 6 weeks, one at 8 weeks) as I had some spotting/light bleeding and we were worried about the viability of the baby.

If we hadn't been offered these, I think I would've paid for a private scan, as 12 weeks is a long time to have to wait! I googled 'Private Scan in Sheffield and Rotherham' and there are a few choices. I think they vary between 80-100 for a basic scan.

Good luck, and let me know what you decide to do!

If you have concerns go see your doctor and ask if you can be refered for an early scan. I ended up having about 4 due to the first thinking it was an eptopic but turned out to be my appendix, then to check the baby was ok after surgery and then finally they sent me for another due to me having pains which they couldnt decide if it was pregnancy or operation pain.
If you call the out of hours doctor they arranged mine over the phone on a sunday for the next day but i still had to go in and have some prodding and pokeing.

if you are going to pay honestly i would wait because there will not be alot to see and its alot of money. Money that can go towards something nice for when bump arrives
