Okay... I've been struggling for a few days as to whether or not I am pregnant. I am 2 days late for AF and I kept getting super faint lines on the HPTs so I went to the doctor today for blood work. They did their own urine test and there was also a faint line on that. The nurse thinks I am pregnant but it's too early still for me to get a super positive result. They drew some blood anyway and I will get those results tomorrow. My doctor went ahead and did a pap smear because I am due for one. I had spotting during the pap smear. The doctor said spotting was normal, especially for pregnant people. But when I got home the spotting seems worse.. a little more than just spotting to me. It's there a GOOD bit when I wipe... I don't know if it's enough to wear a pad yet because I keep running to the bathroom and wiping. It was a brighter color at first but now looks a little darker.. but not like old blood. So, anyone else had a decent amount of bleeding after a pap? I am still not convinced I have a viable pregnancy. It almost seems like it might be a chemical pregnancy because of the very light test results over the past few days, even though the nurse thinks I am just to early. With #1 I got a very positive pregnancy test the day AF was due! Any thoughts, help, opinions??
If you are pregnant your cervix will have a lot more blood flow and a pap smear could have irritated it so may be a sign of being pregnant. I haven't had a smear test while being pregnant but I did get bleeding after DTD and that's what the nurse told me.
Thanks for the reply. I know he said spotting is normal but I just don't know what constitutes spotting because this seems to be a little more than spotting to me when I wipe... it is quite a fair amount really!
Hi Kytti, if it's really worry some (I would be the same way!) Call the doctor and say you're having bleeding a little bit heavier than spotting and they should be willing to see you again, possibly a scan. GL to you!!!
Well, I am too early for a scan still. He said we would not be able to see anything at this rate. I pretty much have to wait 2 weeks before I go back and pray the spotting stops and it does not lead to an AF. I get my blood results tomorrow though.
