My friend went into labour before they believed her!! She had originally been pregnant with twins but all the tests said so she was awaiting an ultrasound to see what the mass in her abdomen was. She went into labour at 30 weeks with her survivng twin leading the way. She was told it might be apendictus until she got to hosp where they rushed her to delivery suit.

She gave birth to a little girl and then follwed by the pheotus of her son. She was so ill with pnd afterwards that her other 3 kids were looked after during the day times by social services due to what had happened!! She took them to court and won £150k for the mental anguish and trauma the Dr's had caused by not believing her. I know this is extreme but it is true! She had had dozens of tests but hadn't started feeling pregnant til she was nearly 6 months! Because she had only just had a baby and got pregnant again after just 4 weeks the hormones in her body hadn't gone yet so her body was masking the baby and she hadn't lost any weight yet etc!!

BFNs are possble - so are blood tests if pregnnat but thats not because the result is wrong but because of the date of conception (some woman ovulate later in their cycle for example) if a blood test result is negative then there is no hormone count which means pregnancy symptoms will not have shown either but if nothing has implanted yet etc then yer guess its possible.

My doctor told me that ultra sens home tests and even hospital blood tests do sometimes miss pregnancy in the early stages, when it is usually detectable, which is why it's important to go back for follow up bloods if you still think you might be.

yup, me. I had a negative blood test, and then a couple weeks later, I got a positive pee test (or...was it 20? lol) and I had an OBGYN confirm it, after my regular dr told me there was no way I was pregnant
