so i was wondering if there is an aVERAGE weight gain for the first trimester.. i put on 3 stone with my first child and really don't want to put much on again! i managed t o loose 2 of the stone since giving birth but that last stone didn't wanna shift!
i am just over 7 weeks and put on 6lb already?!!?! is this normal?
thing is normally i snack but since being pg i have lost my appetite, although I'm making sure i eat breakfast lunch and dinner I'm not eating between or after.. so surrey it can't b food?!?!
I'm goin to go on slimming world in a couple of wks to help control weight gain.. I've only put on a 1lb so far, but I have tried not always succeeded to stay away from high sugar and fatty foods. Write down what your eating for a week. That will show you what foods you don't really need and what subsitute for.
I know this doesn't sound very fun (especially while pregnant), but I usually figure out how many calories I should be consuming a day to maintain my weight. In the first trimester, weight gain isn't really needed. There are many online weight maintenance calculators that can help you find that number. They also take into consideration how much you exercise, etc. After you figure out that number, I would devise a healthy meal plan that stays within that number. I would write down everything you eat. At the end of the day you can assess how you did. too much sugar? not enough veggies? too many calories above your limit? It really helps show you "what" you are actually consuming in a day's time. For the second and third trimesters you can add 100, 300 calories per day respectively onto that meal plan. Good luck.
Weight gain in the first tri is not all that important. With morning sickness, most women actually lose a lot of weight, while some don't gain at all! If you put on a little, then congrats! But really, weight gain only becomes really important in the second and third trimesters. Hope this helps.
I have already put on 6lbs but my cravings for crisps have subsided to fruit now so I'm hoping I can control it now. But saying that I've gone from a 32D to 34E in bra size already and that has to count for a few pounds. I put on 4st last time eventhough I was sick the whole way through. I think some women are just more prone to the weight gain.
With my first two I lost weight..... but so far with this one I've maybe gained a pound... seems like I go up and down a pound on my scale every morning... so maybe I've gained nothing yet..lol. But I haven't lost any weight like I did with my other two...but then again I started out thinner this time than with either of them
My OB said that I should only add about 100 calories to my normal daily diet right now. I haven't been counting calories, but I normally eat pretty healthy - normally! I didn't gain any weight until the last week and a half in which I gained 4 pounds. I caved and bought fast food on the way home from work a few times. It really made a difference - for the worst.
