Trouble Breathing

Is anyone else having trouble breathing? I've notice it in the last 24 hours mostly...not sure if I'm coming down with something...or if it's a pregnancy thing? I have seasonal allergies..(spring/summer), so I'm not sure if there's something new that I'm allergic too? I feel fine otherwise...just tired. Nothing new there....

I am not sure why you would have trouble breathing in your first trimester, so it is likely due to your allergies or something else. I would let the doctor know you are having a hard time breathing, just so he knows. I know I have a hard time breathing, and in third trimester when baby was really high, breathing was nearly impossible for me, I would stay up all night making sure I was breathing, it was awful! just let your doc know and see what s/he says... Good Luck hope you feel better soon !

Hiya,

I have had really bad trouble breathing too. I have done from the 2nd week into this pregnancy. Its down to the increased levels of hormones chnging even more things inside!!

I found this for you...

This happens in first trimester becuase your body needs more oxygen for your baby,so it is like you are more aware of your breathing. As if you are deliberately taking in more oxygen for your little one. You will also notice your rate of breathing per minute does not change that much, only you gulp more air per breathing.
In pregnancy increased level of hormone progesterone stimulates respiratory center in our brain to help us breathe more air.
In later stage of pregnancy though your baby will crowd your belly and the growing uterus will push the diaphragm, so you may feel shortness of breath.

Hope it helps, but its good to know you're not alone!!

xx

That's great! Thanks ladies..I knew I'd get an answer here. I'm not overweight or anything...but feel it and out of shape right now...but good to know I can blame it on the pregnancy!
