Hot water bottles

Is it safe to use them in first trimester?

I've been getting really uncomfortable tummy and back pains, like a dull weak AF pain, but it's a horrible feeling which makes me feel nauseous. I'm fairly certain it's wind so I'm not too worried, but I've been using one of those microwave wheat bag things to help ease them. I'm making sure it's only warm, not hot, and I'm putting it inside the little cuddly devil it came in(!) and I don't put it directly against my skin, I press it against my clothes. But is this safe for the bean? I'm someone who feels the cold, so personally, if I was bean I'd be loving it, but I don't want him wishing I'd installed air con, and I really don't want to do anything which is putting him in danger (sounds a bit dramatic but you know what I mean!!)

Depends on how warm but your not allowed baths above 37.5 hope that helps as a guide

i used a hotwater bottle when i had backache, they tell u not to have hot baths as your body gets 2 hot and if your blood pressure gets hight you can go into early labour. i think is a lot diff for a hotwater bottle though.

with a high body temp u run the risk of mc and that is the only reason they allow paracetomol in 1st tri as risks of that are far less then having high temp

My OB says the microwaved heated pad/bags are okay because they cool off fast enough that you won't overheat. He says NOT to use electrical ones that STAY hot. Hot baths stay hot much longer, too, which is why they are bad. I would think you would be okay with what you are doing.
