Hello ladies and congrats! I just wanted to pop in here really quick from TTC and ask you lucky ladies a question. I just started seeing a RE and through bloodwork and a biopsy, was told I have low progesterone levels. I just started 50 mg of clomid this cycle to see if it helps me. I am also having a HSG done on Friday. I am really nervous about that test because the biopsy I had last week was PAINFUL and I have read some horror stores about the HSG as well. Anyway, I wanted to ask if any of you were put on clomid for low progesterone issues and had any success? My RE says I am ovulating but am just low and clomid is the first line of treatment for it. Thanks in advance and once again, congrats!!
First of all, best of luck with everything. I've been where you were...and not too long ago. First off, my HSG wasn't bad at all. I had also heard some bad stories, but I followed what my doc said. She said to take an advil a half hour prior to my appointment. When the HSG was performed, it felt just like menstrual cramps. As for the clomid, it worked wonderfully for me the first time. I took 50 mgs on days 5-9. I had bloodwork done on day 23 and the report was that my progesterone levels were high. 144 I believe. I was told to call back when I was 1 week late and they would order me a pregnancy test. Well, I am now 11w3d and pregnant with twins. My specialist said that was the first time in many years she saw someone get pregnant with twins on 50 mgs of clomid. So I wish you all the luck I have had so far.
I was in the same boat. took clomid and it worked on the 3rd cycle, but I had to start taking progesterone suppositories (called endometrin) asap. so when you hopefully get pregnant soon, make sure you ask if you should take progesterone supplements! its crucial you take them asap so the pregnancy can continue
Hi! I'm from around Pittsburgh, nice to see someone here from the same area. My OH and I thought that we couldn't conceive. We tried and tried and tried for years. We got lucky and got pregnant last year, twice but my levels were so low, we lost both at around 7 weeks. This time around so far I am 9+4... and keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck with everything!!!!!!
I took Clomid and was unable to conceive for 4 cycles. After that we stopped everything... wouldn't ya know it. I'm preggers. I take the suppositories... not much fun, but its keeping me pregnant thus far! Best of luck!
I took clomid (along with some shots) to get preggers, but not due to low progesterone. My RE put me on progesterone suppositories which I started 3 days after my IUI (or after ovulation). Has your RE mentioned the progesterone supplements? GL to you!
Same boat...Low Progesterone...50 mg of clomid on cycle days 5-9...3rd cycle and I am now 4 weeks pregnant...due to the low progesterone I will be doing Blood work to enusre that my progesterone is elevated enough to sustain a pregnancy...GL to you!!!
