my teeth are killing me

I'm only 4.5 weeks and my teeth hurt so bad that I can't even close them together to eat. It makes it really hard to sleep. Anyone else have this problem?

Same here, it went away by about 6 weeks. Try using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

If it continues it is worth seeing a dentist. Tooth hygiene and health is really important in pregnancy

Mine were giving me trouble last week so I ended up going to the dentist - I didn't have any problems with them and she said my brushing was great, so it must have been a weird pregnancy symptom!

My dentist said it had to do with your body desperately trying to fight infection and one of the areas it is easiest for infection to enter your body by is your mouth, so it goes into overdrive!

I have a root filling and it has been playing up every since I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks- it is apparantly because my body sees it as a foreign body and is trying to get rid of it! Our bodies are amazing but slightly frustrating at times. Dentist also said that bleeding gums are likely as the pregnancy progresses due to the increased blood flow across the whole body.
