I agree with melbo. At first I was upset I was carrying two girls but in the end im grateful im pregnant at all. My selfish ungrateful attitude was awful and now im happy and proud to be having not just one daughter but two.

I don't think it's selfish to prefer one gender over the other, you have a boy, so naturally I'm sure you'd want a girl.. it's not like you're worried about not loving your baby for being the 'wrong gender'.. None of the gender predictors are 100%, sorry to say it lol. I had about 50% telling me I was having a girl and the other 50% telling me I was having a boy. People were swearing by the Chinese one and it was wrong on me! (According to that to conceive at 18 and have a girl you can only conceive within a couple months of the year..) I had people of all ages telling me girl/boy.. all along I thought GIRL but I was finally starting to be convinced baby was a boy.. and whamooo at our 3D ultrasound we confirmed that we're having a baby girl!

i dont think its selfish at all, i think some people who have posted on this thread have been a bit too vicious imo!!

before i knew i was having a girl i wanted a girl for one reason and a boy for another reason, as it is, i got a girl, which on one hand i was delighted about but that doesnt mean i wasnt disappointed i wasnt having a boy

people should be allowed to express their opinions without all this aggro imo, i do understand that people who have tried hard for a baby might be upset but at the end of the day she hasnt said shed disown the baby if it turned out to be a boy!!!

deestar, i hope u get ur girl hun

xxx

*just read back to everyones postings*

I can see why you may want a certain sex, i suppose we all secretly have a prefrence

But until you are put in a position, like myself, i dont think some may understand why others would find this post upsetting.

So i am not being rude, or offending anyone by what i think or say, as of course this is my personal opinion, But i personally think, this post has slightly upset me as currently i am going through some things in my pregnancy (as posted thread), and right now i would just be greatful for a healthy baby, whatever the sex maybe.

I completely agree nervouspains, it's one thing to prefer one gender over another, but you don't want to be full on upset at the possibility, not even certainty that it may be a boy. And these tests are so ridiculous. Really, the way a ring swings is supposed to tell you what sex your child is? Even the chinese gender predictor test was wrong in both of my children's cases.
