No pineapple or papaya??!!

I just read online that we cant eat pineapple or papaya?! Apparently they can cause slight uterine contractions which may stimulate miscarriage. I didnt know this one. Here's me thinking my pineapple juice was nice and healthy.. and I bought some dried fruit mix which has papaya in

I even read we cant have grapes!??! anyone heard of these ones before?

I didnt know it was such a minefield!! I found out these ones while researching cream lol, which im still confused about now!

this is absolute bollocks.
If eating fruit could cause a miscarriage then women would not have had dangerous backstreet abortions for hundreds of years, they would have made themselves some fruit salad.

If you ate ten whole pineapples in one sitting then you might do some harm. However you would get very bad diarrhoea first before you managed to eat ten whole pineapples.

Fruit is good for you. No fruit has been linked with miscarriage. I would stop reading whatever it is you are googling and stick to actual medical advice!

It isn't a minefield. There are only about ten things that you need to remember to stay away from.

Hi,
I know people eat pineapple at the end of their pregnancy to try and induce labour (old wives tale?) but i've never heard of it having anything to do with miscarriage.

You can definItely eat grapes - you just need to wash them first. Pineapple is recommended to induce labour but even then you have to eat tonnes of them including the core cos that's where the prostaglandins are. Saying that it didn't work for me. My 3rd baby was 14 days late and nothing was getting her out! :-)

Pineapple in normal amounts will be fine. Xxx

Its crap. They say in your last few weeks to eat pineapple to set off labour but they also say have lots of orgasms abd walk up and down stairs and eat curries . So if people are going to stop eating pineapple for fear that it will cause them to miscarry are they gone stop having sex, eating curries and going for long walks?? ERM NO!

if you eat in moderation should be fine

I often eat a bowl of grapes, still pregnant here.
