I had my 13 week check up today. We had about a 10 second lag of where the nurse couldn't hear the heartbeat, but we finally heard it when she moved the doppler higher on my belly. She mentioned "Wow, you are bigger than you should be at this point." She said my uterus was almost to my belly button. Then the doctor came in and felt my stomach and he said "If I hadn't seen you before and didn't know your due date, I would say you are 17 to 18 weeks pregnant." We saw only one baby at my 7 week ultrasound...surely that is pretty accurate, right? haha!
He did say that it could be that since this is my 4th baby, my uterus is just poking out sooner and I've had previous c-section scarring that could be pushing my uterus up further. Anyone measure ahead like this and everything be perfectly normal?
Yes my third after two previous sections i measured 5 wks aheas at one poinr early on... but it ended up evening out after a couple more visits each 4 wks. singelton baby.
I feel its ahead again this time too, inch below belly button at 10 wks... but the dr hasnt measured it yet. this is my fourrh but fifth pregnancy.
Well I had my appt today & the dr. confirmed I am feeling ahead again this pregnancy too. I don't know if it was this early in the past when it started being ahead. He said he would guess 15-17 weeks right now but we will confirm it in 4 wks at my ultrasound. hmmm Wish I could remember when it measured ahead & when it evened out again.
Also it took him a minute to find the heartbeat, I think he was looking too low at first.
