Vaginal bleeding that looks like a period

Hi Everyone!
I hope all you girls had a great New Years. Last time I posted a thread about my low hcg level and the doc said I am going towards a miscarriage. Well, I am not having a miscarriage yet and I'm getting my hcg tested again today. However, I am experiencing vaginal bleeding that looks exactly like my menstrual cycle. It started out as spotting but gradually grew heavier. Today is the 4th day, and its mild not as heavy as the 2nd or 3rd day. I freaked out and got a HPT just to make sure I didnt pass the baby and it said im still pregnant. I cant imagine passing the baby this way because I thought it was supposed to be heavy bleeding and really bad contraction pain. I even dug around in the toilet each time to try and "find" my baby but all I saw was small blot clots. Did anyone experience this during their early stages of pregnancy? I'm getting another hcg test today and I'm still hopeful. Thanks

honey, that could well be it. how far along were you? my mc in july i was 5 weeks and it was little more than a painful period with a few little clots. your hcg levels may not be at 0 yet which is why the test was positive. xxx

Bleeding is bad in early pregnancy, although rare cases women bleed and have healthy babies, only time will tell. Praying for good news.

Im really sorry to say but that does sound like it could be a MC. They aren't always like what you see on TV, I only had mild pains with mine and small clotts.

Same here. My loss at five weeks was just like a period.

Thats so sad! I keep thinking of reasons to assure me that my baby will survive, but I guess this is it. I'm going to go get another hcg test today just to make sure the number is dropping so hubby and I can prepare for our next journay of ttc. What I dont understand is is this a period (sure looks like one) or a miscarriage? If I'm having this period-like miscarriage would I still have a cycle this month? Thanks

if your in the first 4-6 weeks of pregnancy its counted as a chemical pregnancy, so youll have a period soon i think.

i had my chem then nothing for two months before i had another period. my body is messed up though x

I am so sorry hun You kind of have to look at it this way...we are all different people and all have different types of periods. I, for example, have a "not so normal" period...they are pretty heavy and always have small clots. When I had my MC, I knew because I had a BFP but if I would not have POAS, I would NOT have known because it was JUST like my period. I didn't have barely any cramping either.

So sorry hun, it is very similar to a period when you are not far gone. AF can take up to 7weeks to come after MC. Most Dr's recommend waiting one cycle befor TTC, but as you can see I didn't.
