Ahh! haha! That's amazing! They sound sooo much alike! He could've made it sooo romantic in central park too! LOL! sounds exactly like my DH. The doppler is sooo easy to use! All I do is cover the top of the probe where it's flat with the gel it comes with and turn it on and lately I've been hitting the heart beat spot on! Haven't had a day yet where I can't find it, thank goodness! I was afraid getting one would worry me more than it would benefit me, but I'm so glad I got it! Ohh now I can't wait for Tuesday! It is really hard to stomach thinking something bad could happen, even now! I still get nervous before ultrasounds! My first ultrasound where it's just the fetal pole, the baby dated 5 weeks 6 days. From what I gather the fetal pole is the embryo at it's smallest visible point to the naked eye. I've heard that some people can see the heart beat in the fetal pole, however in mine we didn't see the heart beat until the next ultrasound when I was 7 weeks. Don't get disheartened if you can't see the heart beat though! I was so excited just seeing the little speck of baby (well, embryo but to me BABY!) That's good that your DH is going to take you!! The scans are always pretty quick, no more than ten minutes! Mainly just measurements and pictures. She looks around to make sure everything looks okay and of course I just sit and stare in awe!The internal exams aren't too bad. The first couple times were the most uncomfortable but I think they are easier now because I know what to expect. That's so cool that your little bean will be due on your birthday!!!! What a wonderful birthday present! We both picked up riding motorcycles the summer of 2010 when we started dating. It was a blast! The riding season is short here in Alaska but still just amazing! It's sad that I won't ride this summer but VERY much worth it! Of course, I will probably still be butt hurt and jealous when my DH goes out riding! I'm doing much better lately! Still tired a lot, but it doesn't seem to be quite as bad! I'm hoping to get more energy back as I get closer to the second trimester (keeping my fingers crossed!) How about you? How are you and your little bean feeling symptom wise? and the spotting? I really really hope it stops sooooon!!! Every time I get on I cross my fingers that your post will say that it stopped!!! alright, enough rambling for one night! haha! Take care, get some rest, and I'll be sending lots of love and hugs!

God, to be told that they could see a potential m/c afoot at your first scan must have been awful. I've kind of started to build myself up for the worst but in reality, I'll be completely devastated if they give me bad news. On the other hand, my addiction to digi HPTs is starting to pay off - today I got my 3+!!! That's gotta be a good sign surely!!! How are you doing? Do you feel more relaxed now you've heard a heartbeat or are you still freaking out? Oh, and how's the spotting? (PS I'm inspired by your profile pic to create a new superhero called Mrs Spotty whose aim is to rid the world of spotting. What do you think?

I've been warned by loads of people not to expect too much at the first scan but to be honest, I'll be happy if they can confirm there's something there. My big worry is if they see an empty uterus. Please, please, please, please, please be okay. I bought a book that shows how babies grow week by week in the womb - it's absolutely fascinating! I've read it twice already!!! You and Hit Girl must be over the moon having your very own scan pics - I'm very jealous! I've never been on a motorbike before but I've always wanted a shot. Tell your DH he's banned from biking until baby biker comes along. Alternatively, he'll have to make up for any riding he does with plenty of foot rubs! I'm glad you raised the symptom question because I'm not too sure what symptoms I should have right now! My left boob hurts ( Take it easy, don't go lifting any microwaves

We won't find out until they tell them to start packing up, probably April. Then we'll at least know when he'll be in the states. Once he gets to washington he just has to wait to find out when he actually gets to come home. The company really doesn't seem to consider families and how we feel. I've grown pretty used to that the past year though.. we do get to talk everyday, on MSN messenger Aww, when you go in for your ultrasound on tuesday.. if you are able to see anything definitely ask for pictures!!! I made sure to even when peanut was a teeny fetal pole Haha! Well, I look at him riding this summer without me as payback for me riding last summer while he was deployed I haven't had a bunch of symptoms like a lot of women, mainly just exhausted 100% of the time and headaches seem to come and go, but not as often as earlier in the pregnancy. At first I was kind of worried, but now I'm just happy that this pregnancy is fairly symptom-less!!! How are you feeling today? I hope things are going well and staying well! same goes for you Hit Girl!! My appointment went well! The doc found the heartbeat and it's strong at 150bpm. She showed me where my uterus is coming up out of my pubic bone and finally didn't have to do an internal ultrasound!! http://s1135.photobucket.com/albums/...1212wvideo.mp4 however, I did find out that I am a carrier of one of the cystic fibrosis genes take care! you and your little bean rest plenty!! sending lots of hugs!

Now, the cystic fibrosis thing, I actually know where you're coming from. My SIL was tested with her first child and was told she was a carrier. She had months of worry that her DH was a carrier too as, like yours, he was deployed at the time. Turns out, he was a carrier too and they're worry multiplied. But both that baby and the next were ABSOLUTELY FINE. She was deployed in the states at the time which is the only reason she had the test, they don't test for it here as the odds are so low. Even if you are both carriers it's so unlikely that anything will happen. My late MIL had advised me and DH to go for counselling before we decided to try for a baby, just in case we were carriers too (as with his sis a carrier it is likely he is too). However, we didn't bother as it wouldn't have stopped us trying. So, the likelihood is that DH is a carrier but they don't even test for it in the UK. Please don't worry about it as my SIL was told the chances of her DH being a carrier too was super low. And then, even with both of them as carriers, all was fine. Your little peanut is A-okay and will continue to do absolutely fine both in the womb and beyond - I know these things, I'm an auntie! AFM: Still spotting. I'm never really sure what's happening but I think it might be slightly heavier today Hope you're taking it easy and that you're continuing to bug your baby with the doppler (I'm still so jealous about that by the way!).

Yeah, I think I'm done stressing about being a CF carrier.. I told my DH and he was like his normal self, saying how they test for these things way too early to cause unneeded concern. I just told him how I would rather know and be somewhat prepared before the baby is born rather than it being a complete surprise. I told him whether he agrees or not he's getting tested! Ahh! I want to seriously talk to your insides and tell them to stop! I'm making sure to still take it easy, however doc said I could (and of course should) get back into going to the gym.. before pregnancy i was a workout ADDICT! and since I got pregnant and had all the spotting I've been TERRIFIED to workout. But she said to start with the water classes im interested in and the yoga/pilates one and then move onto the elliptical. but NO running on a treadmill or track or anything else that is high impact. and I plan on taking advantage of the gyms massage therapist for prenatal massages! well girl, I really hope your taking it easy! Tell DH to take you on a nice relaxing vacation!

I just wrote this super-long post here and then I lost it! %^$@!@$!$%&^%!!! I shall try my best to rewrite the magic... Symptoms? I didn't have any MS to begin with and that really worried me. Then one day I was flipping through a supermarket catalogue and I saw a block of Cadbury chocolate in there and the nausea was instant. (I can't believe you have a chocolate thing too!!) Since then it's been pretty nonexistent (I was starting to suspect that one time was all in my head) up until a few days ago. I was putting my dinner plate in the dishwasher and I got a whiff of the other dishes in there. I almost barfed all over the kitchen. Last night I was thinking I hadn't worn my retainer in a while and I probably should tonight and then BAM! I couldn't even say the word 'retainer'. Just imagining putting that thing in my mouth sent me over the edge. How ridiculous is that? I've been queasy many other times too, but for no good reason. I can be fine with something one minute and then the next it's all on. Even thinking about being sick can do it for me. Okay. The sore boobies but only on one side thing? Yes. Definitely yes. That freaked me out so much. For a while it was like my left one didn't even know there was anything going on. Now they both hurt or they'll take turns to taunt me. Silly boobies. So that's where I got up to before I had to go to my doctor's appointment today and subsequently lost everything I had written. The doc seemed really happy with how everything was going and wants me to have another ultrasound in a week to see how the haematoma is going. She also instructed my husband (who was at the appt) to take the computer away from me if I start to look up horrible things that will make me panic. akblaze, I am so jealous of where you are in your pregnancy. 12 weeks seems so far away for me right now (I'm at 8w). Hope everything is progressing splendidly with both you and the beautiful Happenstance. I'll get working on the teleportation device. xxx |

Regarding the spotting: Gah! This spotting completely blows. Mine went a little bit heavier too for a short time. Is it every time you wipe? How much is in your pad? For a while mine was every time I wiped and there was often barely anything on my pad. It varied between brown and red. I even had a bit of red before my last scan. I sincerely wish akblaze and I could be with you at your scan. Will your gorgeous DH be there? x

I agree that your DH should get tested and I think you are taking exactly the right approach, you have to remain as relaxed as possible and just take things in your stride. As for that time machine idea, I LOVE it! I'm going to close my eyes and when I wake up it'll be Tuesday Now, FOUR dogs! That doesn't sound like you can take it easy at all! What kind are they? How long have you had them for? I think it's great that you're doing well enough to go back to the gym, but please just take it slowly. Baby steps...! Oh, my little bean says it would love to have you as an auntie (surely it has to be a good sign that it's talking already! PS Love that you've changed your profile pic - love it! Quote:

This might sound strange, but I'm glad you're feeling sick! I wish I was as I would at least know I was pregnant! It's good to know I'm not the only one who's gone off chocolate - I thought that was the weirdest thing ever! I don't know what it is, it just makes me think of eating a pile of lard I'm glad your doc appointment went well and it's great you're going for another ultrasound. I think any chance to see your LO must be so exciting! Have they given you any idea how long it will take for the haematoma to go away? Is it days/weeks/months or does it just depend on how your body deals with it? Also, I've been meaning to ask this for ages, but what causes it - did you have it before you were pregnant or just since you've been pregnant? I'm praying that it goes away really soon and that your spotting stops. Oh, and while it's good that you don't look up the dreaded Dr Google, please don't let them take away your computer - I'd miss you Now, the boobies thing. I was really starting to wonder why only one half of my body seemed pregnant, so glad to know you felt the same! The only thing is, I keep pinching them to check they're still sore (which, of course, makes them sore!) and then I panic if it didn't hurt so much so then I pinch again (which makes them sorer) and then I wonder if they really are sore or if it's just cause I'm pinching them?! As for my spotting, it's been heavier today and yesterday which is freaking me out. Since the day my spotting started (which was 4dpo and before I was even pregnant!) it's been there every time I wipe. I don't soak through pads or anything but there's definitely a light amount of blood each time I change them - more like when your period is tapering off. There's no 'flow' as such, but I definitely need to wear a liner or a pad. Also, it varies from brown to red but lately it's been more of a dark red colour. Today is the 18th consecutive day of spotting and it's driving me crazy
