Anyone NOT get a 12 week scan on nhs??

I did make another post about this but trying a different title cos Im still worried!!
I got what i thought was my scan letter through finally - but it just says '1st appointment' at the top, that it may last between 1-3 hrs and to bring a urine sample. It says in bold print at the bottom 'Please note that not everyone will need to have a dating scan at their antenatal visit. You can only purchase a scan image of your baby if a scan is clinically necessary'

Did anyone else have a letter like this?? I dont see why i wouldnt be entitled to one... my dates dont match the mw dates as I have long cycles - she puts me a week ahead - i will be exactly 14 weeks by their dates when i have my appt, but only 13 weeks by mine.. I havent had any other scans at all and not even had pregnancy confirmed!! I hope I get a scan I want to know that there really is a baby in there at least! Do you think they say this in case people have had recent emergency scans or private scans?? I also said 'yes' to the NT screening which surely is a clinical reason for scan!!! My midwife didnt mention any reason I wouldnt get one

Oh p.s. Im going to Birmingham City hospital. Any help anyone?? Do you think i'll be scanned?

I think mine says a scan can be part if the appointment but it doesn't say I will def get one. I haven't heard of anyone that hasn't so I wouldn't worry, hey must be just trying to cover themselves in case they can't give one for some reason. I am a week behind what they have dated me too.

I've my first scan tomow and it says I'n big bold letters- if you have previously had a scan a further scan may not be required at booking appointment" I reckon yours and mine just mean that if you had one at epu perhaps you won't get it. I've never heard of anyone not getting a scan unless you choose not to. Ring tomow just I'n case but I wouldn't panic xx

I am panicking lol. Im glad Im not the only one with a strange sounding letter tho!! Thanks guys!! my friends at work who are pregnant their letters said 'scan appointment' so I was worried! I definitely want a scan lol x

My letter says booking appointment,if they don't give me a scan tomow after 13 weeks of torment I will end up getting arrested! That would tip me over the edge Im already a Loony lately!! I'm sure it will be a scan Hun they need to do your nt test unless u select not to have them. It will be ok

I know lol me too!! I want a scan already!!!! i waited sooo long for this appt!! Another thing Im worrying myself about is that by their dates I'll be 14 week on my appt day, and the NT is from 11 - 13 wk 6 days I believe - I hope they dont turn around and tell me Im a day too far!! Lol!

To be honest by their dates I'm like 16 weeks now as my lmp was 20th Oct!! I have crazy 45 day cycles though and know I Ovd the weekend of the 19th nov. I was a psycho ttc as well

lol honestly u should ring for peace of mind but I can't see them not giving you a scan. Whens your apt? Xx

On thursday - i bet they wont tell me on the phone!! You're 16 weeks by their dates and no scan yet??! shocking!! I too know when I concieved Im pretty darn sure! But mw didnt believe me lol she just said always go by last period

Tomow at 11.05 and honestly Im shitting myself. Im trying the whole pma and all that but I practically break out in a sweat everytime I think about it. Next time if Im lucky enough to get pregnant again Im not going to tell them when I think I concieved and just only go by the lmp at least I will get an early scan. Honesty isnt always the best policy ! It amazes me how different the NHS is depending on your location, my midwife would only go by my expected conception date. in glasgow sometimes people have to wait til 16 weeks ! Madness x

That is awful to have to wait sooo long!! And mad that they go by your conception date as most people dont know this!! Mine said cos there's no disputing when the last period was they go by that!

Im worried too its hard not to be - Im sure we both have healthy babies in there!! Im just scared of finding nothing or worse! but no, pma like you say!!! Very best of luck let me know how it goes!!
