Sorry, I can't offer an explanation for this but just wanted to say I was the same way when I was pregnant with my daughter. I could eat candy, caramel popcorn and ice cream. Everything else would make me throw up.

I have no idea why, but I have that problem too. I tried to eat a healthy lunch (salad and hardboiled egg) but threw it up within 15 minutes. Then I ate Sweet Tarts and Nerds and had no problem. Try watermelon and other fruits - they're sugary but healthy.

My MS has majorly improved now but when it was really bad I used to have sour candies to stop myself from gagging or being sick in public. There were some days when I just ate fizzy cola bottles and drank juice.

The reason you probably want them is that you get low blood sugar from not being able to eat regular meals and they give you a quick rise and then a big fall in blood sugar. After the fall you want more to maintain your energy, so you eat more completely normal response. It's a bit like caffeine, you get energy boost and then a dip.

I would recommend you keep a packet of sour candy in your bag or somewhere reachable like a draw (I keep mine under my desk) and it might ward off some of the sickness. I just found the strong taste of them worked.

Have you tried dry crackers, toast or plain cereal without milk? (I used to pile my cereal with 2 teaspoons of sugar, it was the only way I could eat it). These were the only things I could eat other than candy between about week 6 - 9 LMP.

Hope it gets better soon!
