Bleeding in pregnancy, advice please.

Has anyone has bleeding in pregnancy then gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? This week i started bleeding, it was only very light, brown in colour. I phoned my gp and was Referred to the epac for a scan. The scan has come back inconclusive. They can see the sac and the yolk but nothing more so i have to return in a week. According to my dates i should be 7 weeks pregnant which is why i am so concerned that they could not see anything, however my periods are fairly irregular so the dates could be wrong and it took nearly a week to get a positive test after my missed period. I have has a little bit more bleeding which is now clotty but still brown in colour. I have also been crapping slightly but not painful. I am trying to be positive but it is really difficult and I am also trying to be realistic that it isn't looking good. Has anyone else gone through the same thing?

This is my second pregnancy and I didn't have any problems or bleeding in the early days with my daughter so makes me more concerned. I have also not had any sickness this time, where as with my first I was really sick. Any advice good or bad please as it is driving me mad!

I had bleeding last week and for the past 2 days but I have a tiny cm bleed on my placenta, this is also my second pregnancy and I had no problems in my first pregnancy but apparently you can have more problems in your second pregnancy than you can your first.

If you are worried call EPU and they should book you in for a emergency reassurance scan

Good luck

I have had bleeding in all but my first pregnancy and also had early MC and MMC. And have had spoting this week too. During my last pregnancy I had a three day period with heavy bleeding and cramping yet my beutiful daughter stayed put. With the early MC i started with a brown spotting with deep red streaks that gradually got heavier over a few days on day 3 large black clots came away this lasted well over a week I had a scan when I started bleeding which showed the sac had come away from wall so I knew what was happening. If the clotting is staying brown in my unprofessional opinion and experiance I would say put your feet up relax and take it easy its old blood and less likely to be a bad thing

Hey. I have had light brown spotting almost everyday since I found out I was pregnant and now I am 5.5 days. The spotting is light and about once a day and Ive been having really minor cramps all along as well. On Day 5.1 I had about drops of light red blood ( not light enough to say pink I wouldnt say bright red either). I went to the er and got a scan and everything looked normal for where I am at in the pregnancy. I havent had the red again but still spotting brown about once a day. I do remember putting my finger up there and feeling around for my cervix and I think I irriated my cervix which caused me to bleed a little. at least that is what I am telling myself. The midwife and everyone I talk to says its normal and not to freak out if it continues, unless im in pain and the bleeding is bright red and heavy. which it hasnt been. Its just so hard not to get upset when everyone I speak with says they never had this in their pregnancies. But I know it is common and I just have to be positive and have faith that everything will be ok. I have a scan this wednesday so hopefully they can be see a heartbeat and the baby at 6.3 weeks. good luck to you.

Hi, Im six weeks (+1) and had some quite heavy brown spotting today (it soacked a panty liner but then has stopped) I went to A+E on the advice of NHS direct as I have an early scan booked for tuesday due to a previous MMC, the hospital kept me in all day, and did bloods, urine test and internal exam including swabs. They sent me home to wait for my scan on Tues, saying they dont think its an ectopic pregnancy. Sadly not one doctor spoke of this in a positive way, they pretty much told me I would miscarry. Im sorry my comment isnt very hopeful but I really hope your pregnancy continues happily and healthily. Good luck xxx
