Did being overweight make it harder for you to get pregnant?

So I'm about 3 stone overweight and ttc our first (2nd cycle now) and I know I should lose weight but its so hard but I'm starting to worry it will make it hard to get pregnant or make the process take longer!! I have decided to do more exercise starting Monday also as I don't think my husband is as attracted to me as he was when I was skinnier and obviously him fancying me is quite important for ttc!!

Anyway has anyone else found it a problem when ttc?

Thanks xxxx

I'm 3st overweight now and wasn't actually ttc but got pregnant after 1time dtd funnily enough I found out I was PG when I signed up to lighter life to try to lose my final 3st after already losing 7st from counting carbs and only having 40net carbs per day. With lighter life you need to get medical sign by your GP who did a PG test that came up positive can you imagine the shock I had lol I also took the morning after pill so what are the odds, good luck sending you lots of baby dust x

I started TTCing last year when I was at least 5st over weight. I joined weight watchers and had just lost 3st when I got my BFP this past week.
I would like to think that loosing the weight helped me to get my BFP. I cant put all the glory on loosing weight as I also had an HSG scan in January. SO I think its a combination of the 2!

I'm big (size 14) and old (39). Somehow I lucked out and got pregnant in 3 months.

Just eat healthy most of the time, take your vitamins, try to get some exercise (walks are good!) and go for it. Good luck!

my dr told me that if you have a fairly regular monthly cycle then weight wont be effective. it's when your cycles get messed up after gaining or losing a lot of weight that can change things.

I'm overweight and got pregnant CAUTIOUSLY AND CAREFULLY FULLY PREVENTING this time... so

I had a BMI of about 40, and got pregnant the fourth try (third try with clomid) for my first pregnancy, and first try for the second try (first cycle after loss).

Nope. Was overweight the first time (183lbs) got pregnant in 2 months.
This time (240lbs) got pregnant in 2 months.

We conceived naturally and not to toot my own body's horn but I've only got one ovary, it's kickin some ass though.

I thought it would but nope, we got pregnant the 2nd month and we didn't even try very hard. I have irregular cycles too so I was very surprised.
