How to meet other pregnant ladies?

Does anyone have any ideas how to meet other pregnant ladies in their area? I love chatting to all you ladies on here but I would really like some friends I can socialise with who are pregnant as none of mine are or are likely to be any time soon!

I wonder if midwives can put you in touch with others? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I just feel like I am sort of 'out on a limb' all by myself!

My midwife gave some info on prenatal exercise classes that I can sign up for after 16 weeks. That might be a good place to meet other pregnant folk.

find out if there are any pregnancy yoga/ pilates classes in your area, I've seen lots of aquaerobics classes for pg women in my local paper so I'm thinking I'll join one.

Try browsing local papers, the cards in newsagents windows etc and maybe try asking at your local leisure centre? If you know of a local yoga class ask the teacher if they know of a pregnancy yoga class anywhere - it might even inspire them to start one! The midwife might be able to help out, too - and NCT classes are supposed to be very good for meeting pregnant people, but they're usually much later on.
