Midwife appointment This Wed Uk - a question if anyone can answer..

I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday.

I will be 9+4.

I have a had a few scares and issues with this pregnancy (my first). I was admitted to hospital with suspected eptopic, which thankfully turned out to be an ovarain cyst on my left ovary.

I've had about 3/4 instances of very light brown tinged cm spotting (in fact i am having some again today after BD last night).

The question is, because i am so anxious etc, do you think if i asked really nicely for the midwife to let me hear the heartbeat if possible they would? just to help put my mind at rest a bit!? has anyone else done this at their appontment?

xx

It's unlikely a midwife will try to listen in with a doppler, because if she can't find it (purely because bubs is so little), it will be more stressful for you

Yeah she probably won't want to try as it might be a bit early to find anything but she might try, just be assured that if you don't hear anything, there's likely nothing wrong, it's just too early.

As for the spotting, it's fairly common in pregnancy and if it's more brown then that would indicate older blood. Xx

I don't know if the midwife will do it or not, but it certainly can't hurt to ask!
