Spotting at 12 weeks

I'm around 12 or 13 weeks and waiting for my first scan in a week and a half. I've been spotting this week - today is my 4th day. The midwife told me on Thursday this is perfectly normal, but to phone hospital if it gets any heavier. I also spotted at 8 weeks but didn't take much notice as didn't know i was pg - so can't remember how many days it went on for!
Just wondered if anyone else out there spotted at 12 weeks and how many days is normal? I'm just keeping fingers crossed that as it hasn't got any heavier my little bump is ok...??
Thanks x

I've never had spotting during pregnancy, but know plenty of people who have and their babies were just fine. Take it easy until your scan, and try not to worry to much . They say that bleeding is ok and cramps are ok, but if you get both at the same time you should go to the hospital right away.
Sending you loads of sticky thoughts and baby Hope everything is ok.

Maybe it's about the time your period would have been due?

I have a friend who spotted & bled at about that time with all her babies (8 weeks & 12 weeks) xx

Thanks for the reassuring replies
I'm trying desperately not to stress as I know that's the worst thing for bump, but it's so hard not to worry when you see blood! This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect or what's normal and I just desperately want bump to be ok and grow big and strong in there. Fingers crossed and thanks again xxx

Hi, I was spotting last week and had my dating scan on the Thursday - all was fine - he/she was bouncing about happy as larry. I would try not to worry - although I know it's easier said than done. I'm sure everything is fine x

I haven't experienced bleeding in pregnancy but a lot of women have this and go on to have happy and healthy pregnancy, if you get cramping with it and the bleeding gets worse then go straight to the hospital, Im sure everything is okay, take care XX

Hi I am 13 weeks pregnant and i have had some spotting at 5 weeks, I went for my first scan last week and the day after i had spotting which lasted for 24 hours, Rang the fetal health department in the hospital and she told me that you can have spotting after your scan as they have to push quite hard to get the measurement for the downs test, All she said was to sit and keep your feet up, if your worried i was told by fetal health to go in and they will listen to the heart beat. Don't worry it should be ok x
