Dates confusion (possible TMI)

Hi! Sorry if this makes anyone squirm over my sex life!

I've had my due date pushed back by 2w+2d (the sonographer estimated this measurement and it was not accurate). I dont understand how this is possible given that I know the exact date I had sex with my OH.

My last LMP was 10th december. I had sex 23rd december - I didnt have sex then until feb. By all conception calculators I am due 15th Sept. The sonographer has put my edd down as 2nd October! This suggests that my lmp was 27th dec and that conception took place two weeks later - approx 10th jan. This is an impossibility as I did not have sex in january and my LMP was 10th dec.

we are going to request that the scan is redone because of how it was conducted. But can anyone help reassure me that I am not stupid and that the sonographer has got it wrong because of my known dates (LMP and sexual activity)? No one has asked me what date I had sex - they just assume that the sonographer has done her job properly (now this is my third baby and I can assure you that I have never had a scan conducted in such a disgusting and upsetting way) and she has not done a proper job. Anyone else has such a experience and needed the scan redone and had the dates rectified??

Tanni

ps:
By the way - I dont mean to put anyone off having their scan. This is my third baby and the only scan where I have had a problem and I'm putting this down to going to a totally different hospital and just a bad sonographer.

I'd def. ask for another scan if you're uncomfortable with it.

Did they give you any measurements? Maybe the baby is just measuring small so that's why they dated it that way. Or they are incompetent and did it wrong.

Your Lmp date really doesn't matter as you may have ovulated much later than the average of 14 days of LMP.

However you are right that woth a due date of 2nd October you would have concieved around the 10th Jan. As sperm can live up to 7 days then you could have had sex as late as 3rd Jan and those dates still be right.

ya i hate that about the whole date guessing, like okay ovulation and what not only happens during a certain time in a womans cycle. but like if you only have sex a few times over a long period of time you know the dates! for me, i know i only had sex feb 14 we were trying to abstain as to not get pg before my surg. but oops im pg!! lol. i know i must have conceived near this day, it lines up with my ultrasound dates almost to the T, at first we suspected i was alot farther along because of the p. dates. now my dr is worried that its not growing, but in reality most likely just have dates off or the cycle was different.

best of luck to ya.
