Wow I didn't realize there are so many Oregon girls on here where in Oregon are you lillichloe? I guess maybe I should call my office tomorrow and ask what to expect and if dd and hubby should even come with because it doesn't seem like a very exciting appt! Did any of you take anyone else with you?

My first appointment was blood tests, pap smear, ultrasound and a TON of questions. My doctor does a pap smear if there hasn't been one done in the last four months. I was exactly 6 weeks and 2 days and we were able to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. But sometimes you can't see it that early. It doesn't mean anything.

My husband wants to come to all of them, especially the ones with ultrasounds. Plus I hate waiting alone, it gets so boring. Haha.

With my pregnancies I was given ultrasound from 6wks+, bloodwork, and did the general paperwork stuff, they never even bothered with an exam. I go in every 4 weeks roughly until I am 30 weeks along, then its every other week until 36 weeks, then every week till birth. With my last pregnancy they only checked my uterus/cervix, etc internally once more toward the beginning (15-20 weeks) then not again until i was 36 weeks to check for dilation.

The 12/13 weeks appointment on are the most exciting because baby looks more human, arms, legs, full head, and it moves sometimes. Prior to that its pretty boring.

I basically didn't meet with a doctor for all the paperwork, but a nurse a few days after my first appointment.

At my dating scan at 9 weeks my wonderful man insisted that the baby looked like cat poop, and that something MUST be wrong, because it was not ok to look like cat poop. The doctor actually spent more time calming him down, and giving him full details of where everything was, what was developed so far etc etc. It was hysterical. I was kind of ignored as if I was a specimen. I think the doctor still thinks he's crazy
LMAO- I love that he thought it looked like cat poop. That is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

In my first appt I had paper work/blood work/Pap Smear w/ internal exam (not fun when preggers lol) and an US. :-) Also I had a Q&A with the doc for about 15 mins when she answered any questions I had and also told me what to NOT eat and what to stay away from.

I just moved to oregon actually. I'm downtown portland currently but after baby is born I really want to move to eugene. I moved to oregon from nyc in august and man being pregnant I crave things that no one here has heard of or know how to make. I think the reason we noticed all the oregon people on here is because this post specifically calls for usa ladies.

Anyone know what to expect on ultrasound at 6w2d? We are hoping to see a heartbeat by now right?
I had my first US at 6w3d and we saw hb :-)
