Met new doctor and saw baby again today!

My first appointment was with the nurse (at about 6/7 weeks) and my second appointment was for the sonogram (at 9 weeks). Today was my third appointment (11 weeks) and I got to meet my new doctor. He was sooooo nice. I am the type to worry and he completely calmed me down.

Before I saw the doctor, I saw the nurse and she checked to see if she could hear the heartbeat. She was not able to find it, but told me not to worry since I'm only 11 weeks... it can be hard to find at this stage. She said to mention it to the doctor and that he will find it.

When I told him, he said it's no problem and he will try. He had this really old ultrasound machine in the exam room (they have the newer machines in a separate area - which is where my scheduled sonogram was two weeks ago). Anyway, they keep the old machines in the exam rooms and use them under these types of circumstances. He looked and the baby popped up on the screen and we saw the heartbeat. He told me everything looked good. Baby was moving around and put it's arm up... it looked like it waved! Sooo cute!

Anyway, I really like the doctor and I think he's a good fit for me because he is really calm and reassuring, which is exactly what I need. I am so glad I decided to go with him instead of someone else.

I'm only between 4 and 5 weeks I need to make one still! I just moved and I need to find an MD here. I want to go to my old MD to confirm everything and ask questions she has been my PCP for 12 years! I feel more comfortable seeing her first.

I understand how hard it can be to find a new OB after moving. I loved my old one in California, but we moved and I had to find a new one. Good luck on finding one!
