Doctor confused about how many weeks

Hi girls

I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago and went to see my Gp who gave me a quick scan and she thought I was about 6 weeks. There was no heartbeat at that stage so she asked me to come back today for another scan.

Went in this morning with hubby,and was very excited that we may see lots more today, including a little heartbeat.

Instead, the Gp said I still looked like I was very early on and that
there was still no heartbeat. She told me not to worry as i still have symptoms and to come back next
week for a 3rd scan.

I should be approx 8 weeks but as I'm so irregular it could be 7 weeks. But even at that, I know we should be seeing more than we did this morning. Although the doctor
didn't say it, I'm sure there was more to see 2 weeks ago than there was today.

I've convinced myself that it's all over. To make matters worse,I came home from the doctor's to find my first antenatal appointment had come through in the post.
I feel rubbish

hey

keep your chin up, the doctors has not said anything negitive so take it as a positive

my friend went for her ten week scan and it only showed her at 4 weeks and empty sac, they made her wait another 4 weeks for another scan and by that point the baby was there, healthy and good heartbeat ! that was this month

its bound to be hard for you but try and keep a positive mental attitude, there are tonns of stories in this forum about early scans not reading the answers we expect

I read in another post to make sure you have doctors check to see if you have a tilted uterus. That can affect what is seen on scans.

No tilted uterus for me. This is baby number 3 and it hasn't been an issue before. Thanks anyway

was the scan internal or external. If the scan was external then its probably just that baby is to small at the moment. you could only be 6 weeks now based on your irregular cycle x

Hiya try not to worry I had a scan when I thought I was 7 weeks turns out I was only 5 weeks had a scan a week later and all was ok heartbeat and good growth. I was very worried that whole week and there was no point just stressed myself out !! Good luck
