2 sacs 1 heartbeat.. baby measuring behind... need advice
Hey ladies. So I just got back from my ultrasound appt and there was good news! They found one baby with a heartbeat They also saw another sac but it was empty. I am very worried to say the least... My baby was also measuring 3 days too small. Has anyone else had this happen? I am trying to be optimistic till my next appointment but I cant help but worry. Will the empty sac affect the remaining fetus? Is it okay it to measure small? With my first he was always measuring so big and was born at 10lbs. I have an appointment next week so I can't wait to see if the baby is growing...
The fact there is only 3 days difference is a great thing. many people incuding me get put back 7 days and more. 3 days is 3mm. At this stage the estimate they give you is right by + or - 5 days . All i am trying to say is do not worry. 3 days is nothing to worry about
I have to agree, 3 days is nothing to worry about! The baby is so small at this stage that a tiny mis-measurement can put you back a few days, you'll likely find that you'll go to your next scan and it will be measuring on date or further
As for the empty Sac I really can't comment, I'm sorry. Did they say if they thought it was a vanishing twin or anything?? Xx
3 days is nothing. I was put back 8 days at my scan at 7 weeks. Then at 12 weeks was put ahead 3 days from what I originally thought. So it was Aug 14th then Aug 22 and now a final EDD of August 18th. I wouldn't worry about that. My mom had an empty sac with me and it was absorbed back in and I am now a perfectly okay 23 year old. Wising you the best!
I miscarried a twin at 8wks with my first pregnancy. One doc appointment showed 2 little beans the next showed 1 bean and 1 empty sac. My one bean grew into a perfectly healthy little boy who is now 6 years old. My body absorbed the tissue from the other one. If I hadn't gone to the doctor the week prior and found out there were initially 2 I'd never have even known I lost one.
You responded to my post about this same thing just two days ago. I have done a lot of research and it has made me feel better about my baby measuring small. We are both 7+2. What was your crown rump length? I think what's most important is that the baby is growing and you can see a heartbeat. There's nothing to do but hope everything will be just fine.
