Pregnancy right after Period?

I had a scan measuring at 7 wks 2 days yesterday, but if I count back it would mean I was pregnant from the day after my period ended. Could it really be? I expected ovulation to occur later, even if I know it can vary.

We also got to hear the heartbeat! Amazing feeling.

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes the scans are off on their dates.

I remember my first scan (previous pregnancy) they put me back a week when I knew for sure that it couldn't be, two weeks later at a different scan they put my dates forward, so it all evened out.

I think it's a lot more likely that your bubba is just measuring big at the moment than it is that you conceived right after your period finished (although it can happen.)

Until you get past a certain point (usually around 7 weeks) the baby can grow at unpredictable rates, thats why they date you at between 11-14 weeks because the baby grows at a more standard rate and its easier to date. i had an ultrasound at what i thought was almost 7 weeks and i only measured 5! i went back 12 days later and my baby measured 6+6 instead of 6+3 like it shouldve been. dont worry too much. :-)

Thanks for replying.

I've had 3 scans so far and in each scan they've changed my dates. I'm scheduled again until 6 wks from now. Hopefully by then we can see more accuracy.

When they date you, you are counted as being already 2 weeks pregnant by yhe time you ovulate. So that's why those dates then take you back to roighly your last period.

when i was pregnant with my son who is now three i had what i thought was a period at around 4 weeks before i knew i was pregnant went to docs as was feeling rubbish and she made me do test i was convinced i couldnt be pregnant as hadnt had sex after that period but was told that must have been implatation bleeding.
Just did a test yesterday and found out im pregnant with exact same circumstance had a bleed 3 weeks ago which i thought was period but again havent had sex since then as been feeling tired and sick turns out im nearly 8 weeks.
