8 week appt

What can I expect at my first appointment? It will be at 8 weeks. Will they do an ultrasound? I am debate on whether to have my husband come or not. Have others brought their partners? We really want to be there for the first ultrasound but I am not sure when that will be. It is our first. Thanks!

I had mine yesterday and i got a ultrasound so take him with you

It depends where you are I think. I am in the US and at my first appointment (about 5 weeks) we did blood tests and paperwork. Next appointment we did ultrasound at 7w 5 days I think. My DH goes with me to all appointments. Hope your appointment goes well.

I had my 1st appointment at 9wks2days. They did a vaginal ultrasound (ugh). I did not bring my husband. I think if this had been our first baby he would have wanted to be there, but as we have 2 other children neither of us felt his presence was necessary. He would have had to take a day off work and all that jazz. I do expect he'll come to the 20wk ultrasound.

I have my first appt at 8 weeks and my husband is coming with. They said they will try to listen for a heartbeat but did not mention an ultrasound? or does trying to listen to heartbeat mean ultrasound? lol I'm new at this can ya tell? My husband wants to come tho regardless so he's coming

It's our first too. I say if your husband can get off work easy enough there's no harm in him coming. Or call and ask exactly what they will be doing at the first appt so you can gauge if you want him there.

We had our 8 week appointment, which was my second appointment, this past Wednesday. My husband came with me.

He won't normally come unless they are doing a sonogram. Can you call to see if they are going to do a sonogram?
