NHS maternity exemption card - FW8 form

My GP's surgery tell me they posted my form a couple of weeks ago but the receptionist was vague, just wondering how long it took to get your card so I know whether to chase it up yet or not, thanks

Same here, a couple of weeks.

If you need prescriptions in the meantime, explain to the pharmacist that your card is in the post. They will generally let you have your prescription free anyway, especially if you already have maternity notes or whatever to prove you are pregnant.

Mine was just over a week but seems like 2 weeks is the norm x My MW said that if I needed a prescription before my card came then pay for it then keep the receipt & they will give you the money back x

At my booking appointment the midwife said my GP should have done it so I phoned them and they said they would sort it and post it for me, so i'm just waiting.

Thanks for the replies ladies, I'll give it another week and then chase it up.
