early scans!!

hi i have a early scan thursday at 5wk 5days as i has some pink spotting yesterday and then brown discharge.

wht do u think i will see??

could is the heartbeat??

I also have my scan at 5w5d but it isn't until the 10th. I have asked this before and I was told that it is possible to see the heartbeat but I would be lucky to see it as it is so early. Probably just the sac/yolk. I'm hoping to see the heartbeat though. It would really put my mind at ease. Hope everything goes well for you!

I had a scan on fri and they dated me at 5w 6days (due to me ovulating late) and i saw the yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat - some people don't see the heartbeat at this stage though so i was told not to worry if i didn't see anything - looks like i was just very lucky

I saw a HB at 5w5d with DS bit was told we were very lucky.

It's possible to see the heartbeat but it is by no means a certainty. All it takes is your dates to be a day or two out. You should see a sac at 5 weeks. If your dates are correct you ought to see a yolk sac inside it at 5 1/2 weeks. Anything beyond that you should consider to be a bonus. A scan at 6 1/2 weeks would be more likely to show you the fetal pole and heartbeat.

Iv just been and had a early scan I thought i Was 6w2d and she has dated me down to 5w5d. But she has sed it could change at my next scan in 10 days. I could just see a small blob but we did see the heartbeat :-D x

At 5w6d I was able to see the yolk sack and an itty bitty flicker of a heartbeat. Doc warned before we started that we might not see anything since it was so early. And with what he saw he said I was closer to 5 1/2 weeks than 6 weeks.

I had a scan a week ago, all I saw was what looked like a blob of dark grey chewing gum on the monitor :/

Got another scan next week, hoping to see the heartbeat then

Internal. I think you can't see anything on the abdomen scans till you're at least 10 weeks or so. Someone who knows better can probably correct me on that.
